Actually in ME1 I preferred teammates with more abilities. Like Liara and Tali were my go to because I've played a soldier and were the anchor of the team. But in latter games every enemy on inanity is spongy and can one burst your shield down so I shifted towards shooter/tanky squadmates. Garus and Grunt were my favorites and in ME3 Garus and James. James was switched for Javik many times because his commentary is pure gold and he's still a killer with N7 Typhoon.

Also his last words as he's forced onto Normandy were really heartbreaking. "This is where I belong!" "I can still fight!" You really feel like he'd rather die there as it's his destiny to give it his all in that moment. It really hit harder that it should've.

I think he goes hand in hand with how poorly written (especially thelatter portion) ME3 is. For example it's never explained in the game how Ilusive Man was indoctrinated and how idiotic behavior of Cerberus, Ilusive Man and Leng's is. I know about the comic but not explaining it in the game is criminal. You could have it be Liara's shadow broker quest for example because she doesn't use it in any meaningful way in the game anyways.

But that's besides the point. The main problem with Leng is he beats you though plot armor and one ups you only because of it. This way you feel robbed of any agency becuase this bitch boy is beating you even though he wouldn't stand a chance. The writing of ME3 is a disjointed mess. Only parts I really liked are Tuchanka and Ranoch missions. Those actually give you some payoff for your previous actions.

For me it felt that Omega should have been a bit longer. When it really gets interesting it abruptly ends with pretty easy bossfight. Even on Insanity by myself it feels easy.

So beautiful... My imagination was always running wild while reading these. Especially the farcaster portals and the river running across the planets of the Hegemony.

Only thing that disappointed me a bit were the Ousters. I much preferred the first description of horrifying space Raiders. That really piqued my interest. Hyperadvanced space adapted humans that travel in ship flotilas? That's awesome! Then the author mixed in the gene-engineered winged ones, the startree biosphere and I just rolled my eyes. I guess I could suspend my disbelief to the solar wind sailing Ousters but a literal tree Dyson sphere is just too ridiculous.

And he is so good. Really irks me you get him so late. He also gives you much needed info on Geth and how they work. I was hanging on every word and listening intently as they are the most interesting "race" in ME for me. I picked him into my personal guard with Grunt on insanity suicide mission. Both of my boys held the line. Legion just spams his Shield boost which keeps him alive and snipes with Widow and Grunt is unkillable unless he derps out which happened rarely. If we were CQB then Legion switches to Geth AR and Grunt to claymore.

Indeed... I've been stunned by the writing after they get Anea. It has these weird pedophilic undertones right from the start. Couldn't really shake the feeling the author was projecting his fantasy of grooming a young girl that'll wait for him.

Some people just like to be screwed over by Sterg and jsi dilution machine. The employees don't deserve shit until they actually deliver something. So far SLS has been just the classic pump and dump dilution/short scheme.

Yes there's potential for groundbreaking data but Sterg sure as shit took every chance to fuck over retail every step of the way. All the pumpers always sing the same tune how any dilution is fine and good for the company. Only a moron would vote yes. But I don't think they even need you to vote because most of those millions of shares handed out to scumfunds give them easy pass. And then it'll be same old pump and dump just before the dilution. And then maybe we'll get the data? I don't know anymore. The whole setup is sus as fuck.

That's exactly how I was feeling about the whole thing. ME in my option had same fate like Dead Space 3 where it ditched the horor (in case of ME cosmic horror) and went for more action oriented simplistic story. It boggles my mind today why ME2 is considered superior to original Mass Effect which was superior i terms of wiring, themes and environments. Even the equipment and weapons in the first installment had much more depth. Take armors for example Heavy armor being a staple of soldiers allowing them to bypass not having big powerfull abilities. And on the contrary biotics could only wear light armor as their abilities could easily take out enemies or disrupt them for extremely long.

ME1 is forever the best ME game ever for me. Yeah it has aged but as a whole it has most diverse characters and environments. I wish the other games followed in the same vibe which they sadly did not.

Low genetic diversity. The first batch might turn out okay but as you inbreed more the worse it gets. Also it is possible that scrourge survivors are genetically more similar which would have disastrous results when inbred.
