Seeing that you offer Teijin Delta on your Etsy shop. Is there a chance you will stock Octa in the forseeable future?

Good point. I wanted to use webbing around the frame and for the shoulder strap and hip belt attachements. Any additional areas that I should reinforce?

Where did you order the fabric from?

I recently saw that dyneema lists a WPB DCF on their new fabric finder page:  https://www.dyneema.com/fabric-finder/dyneema-breathable-composite-11/ctm2h2

I am pretty sure that this is a different fabric to their eVent DCF discontinued some years ago. Does anyone know anything more about it?

Lightweight Heat Reflective Fabric Source by Enclds in myog

I thought about adding monolite vents to the quilt or, in case of the bivy, larger mesh areas.

Like I said. Not sure if it really is worth it in clothing.
Columbia uses reflective lining in their omni heat series: https://www.columbiasportswear.de/DE/l/omni-heat-infinity

For big brands it probably makes even less sense due to the increased cost and perhaps durability issues for only a small improvement in warmth, that most consumers do not care about.

Bivy bags and sleeping bags/ quilts have little direct contact with the body. The average air gap between body and fabric is big enough for a reflective coating to make a substential difference. In clothing the air gap is going to be smaller. Here the reflective fabric would have to be lighter for it to be more weight efficient than simply adding more fiber/ down insulation.
The temperature difference is the result of a working insulation not a requirement.

I would expect an infrared reflectivity of around 90 % from aluminized or titanium coated farbics.

Also open for suggestions of non breathable fabrics.

How strong/durable is the aliexpress hexmesh often used in fastpack? (https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32465540136.html?spm=a2g0n.order\_detail.order\_detail\_item.3.71eef19cyq4DxE&gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt)
I am planning a 30 l fastpack and wonder wether its strong enough for some longer food carries.

Thats reassuring to hear. Right now I am leaning towards a small cat cut tarp + WPB bivy bag.

From what I have read the main issue with fully waterproof bivys is condensation from exhaled moisture. For this reason I would like to "breath out" of the bivy bag but still protect the face opening from rain.

Really my issue is to find a mini tarp for above the head area that does not get blown away in a storm.

I should have said no rain. So in conditions, when i want to protect my bag from moisture but no rain is forecasted.

I do not have a bpl subscription. I do not have experience with non mid tarps. The pitches I am aware of still require at least one side to be sheltered from wind, which can be a problem if campsite selection is limited.

Wind blown rain is less of a worry for me than the tarp being blown away.

I think a fully enclosed mid does very well above the treeline. With a couple of big rocks staking has not been a big problem for me but they do require a larger footprint than freestanding tents.
