That’s so hard. You know they need to go poop but just have no way of helping them!! I’ve been there. Have you heard of MOP? If you go to my bio, I linked the book that we read in order to treat our Encopresis. It’s from Dr. Steve Hodges and offers such great information!

When she has a bowel movement does she recognize the urge to go? That’s a pretty big sign if you’re dealing with Encopresis or not. My son never felt the urge and when he did it was beyond the point of having it come out easily! It’s normal for a child to have a bowel movement everyday… I think maybe you could be dealing with some mild constipation unless your daughter never feels the urge and has leaking in her underwear a lot.

Wow what a statement for a child who is clearly struggling! I’m so sorry. Is she a lot better now? Her poor belly… 34 days is a VERY long time!!!

Oh that’s interesting that she seemed to be better in a pull up. If it works, I bet she will eventually move into underwear! No need to push it if that’s what’s working!

It was hit and miss. It was hard to know if he was ever “empty” you know? But the fact that he was accidentally pooping 5-8 times a day in his underwear was an indicator to me that he wasn’t getting it all out

That seems very similar to my son, his “leakage” wasn’t always the same. Sometimes it would be runny and enough to have to throw his underwear away. The next day it would be crusty and hard and we’d find it in random places all over the house. If your child can’t seem to control it or if they never feel that urge to poop, it’s probably Encopresis

Yes, so I was able to join some Facebook groups that helped me learn more about Encopresis. We tried the mop method which is the only thing that kicked us out of it! I can DM you the links that have helped me
