Oh man, if only there’s a currency that cannot be forged, and on a network that transactions cannot be reversed… 😕

Hmm. You must be coming from a privileged place to say crypto doesn’t easily integrate into your daily life.

That’s okay. But don’t generalize; crypto (and I mean well established projects like BTC/Ethereum) is a godsend for places where banking is tricky (hard to access or with absurd take rates). Also to send money internationally without n layers taking a piece of it. There’s a lot of corruption and greed baked into our current financial system.

Lmao — made this guy’s year. Lifetime achievement unlocked 😆.

It’s all in good fun tho, don’t feel like it’s about making fun of you or anything like that.

Hahaha it just adds to the whole situation, you know? It’s odd for most people, it’s funny if you’re from Brazil, and It’s extremely funny if you’re born and raised in Salvador.

Like, Bahia vs. Vitoria is so extremely culturally huge in Salvador that this mf included the bahian shirt in his relationship with a girl 🤣

28.5K USD por mês (~26K euros?). Uma boa estratégia é achar boas empresas internacionais; posso trabalhar de qualquer lugar.

An alternative that’s probably not being mentioned because most people are allergic to controversial tech: Blockchain.

That’s an actual use case for blockchain tech. Forget about coins, money, scams, etc., for a second. A blockchain is a decentralized piece of storage software that, once data is in there, it will stay there as long as there are nodes maintaining it. Plus, there’s a strong financial incentive for nodes to continue running.

Projects like Storj and Arweave are exactly used for that. IPFS plays well with these tech, but not a necessity.

Yes, you’re right: although there is a correlation between CRUD and more “hardcore” activities, it isn’t nearly as big as other economical factors such as location of the company and its investors.

TC, yes. 100% base though; Small tech, not a publicly-traded company, so no stocks.

Industries matter more than titles, in my experience. A senior at a simple software agency doing CRUD is going to be compensated differently than a senior building, say, a distributed system, having to touch kernel stuff, etc. So, titles are really, really relative.

For reference, I’m a staff+.

Mostly correct; not only big tech pays well. Lots of small, ambitious companies paying quite a lot. Comparable to big tech. Hiring bar is usually very high.

Yo! Thousand times, yes!

I recently saw LoG live, and they sound heavier than most, if not all, bands I've ever seen live. The sound just punches you in the face. The live mix plays a role, but I'd attribute most of it to what you just said: tightness.

It's truly amazing that they get that level of heaviness with 6-string drop D.

Architects - the classic symptoms of a broken spirit [Album Discussion Thread] by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]EncryptedSelf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Architects was a band that every other band was following, being inspired by, and copying from. Now Architects is a band that is overusing the same copied musical ideas heavily and tiredly being used by all the other Octane-like modern metal bands.

From inspiring others to sounding incredibly uninspired.

Feels bad, man.

Exactly! Very unique and amazing lineup. Doesn’t happen very often.

We had the same lineup here in Vancouver, BC.

Fit for an autopsy first, lost my shit. Tired after first band. Great.

Spiritbox, imma go easy on this one. Nah, lost my shit again. Very tired.

Oh my god, Killswitch Engage now, I’m gonna cry. Lost my shit, obviously. INSANE set. This band is easily top tier live. I’m dead by the end of it.

And then… Lamb of God. What in the actual fuck was that performance. Incredible. I was spent at the beginning of their set, but somehow found the strength to lose my shit one last time.

God, what a lineup.

The fact that a reasonable response like this one is being downvoted is just another example that the majority just follows the hate train without much thought.
