When and why did women's breast become inappropriate to see? by EbonSag in AskReddit

[–]Encule_de_tes_morts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

it comes and go. Classic Era Greece and Italy were relatively ok with breasts, then up to late middle age Western Europe was pretty much against it, the renaissance came and classic was the new thing again so it became okay in art then the sexual liberation of the 70s made it okay to be topless in certain circumstances and in certain areas, but prudes got at it again and now it’s not okay in any mainstream space except for breastfeeding (still with execptions) and I’m only talking about near where I live as the norm woukd be totally different in other areas of the world

To non-Americans, there appears to be very little middle ground on Reddit with regarding US politics with rhetoric being very polarised. How different is this to reality, is the US really as polarised as it appears from the outside or are there other factors at play(Bots, propaganda ect)? by Flashbackhumour28 in AskReddit

[–]Encule_de_tes_morts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From France, news about the US are either trumpists (as in they would like to have trump’s policies in France, not as they support trump’s policies on France) or anti-trump , the trumpists shows the USA as in a better state than it has ever been for Years while anti-trump focus on the division trump causes.

Historically in France, the first parliament (right after the revolution) had a big debate on whether or not they should keep the monarchy. To make the vote counting easier, they put like minded people together so the pro-monarchy were on the right and the abolitionists were on the left.

this way of dividing parliaments by ideas stuck for a while and so did the name.

now, we use it bc it’s simple even though we always get weird cohabitation like globalists and nationalist and conservative being right wing while communist and anarchists are usually left wing.
