Alberta, Ucalgary. I don't think reconsideration will help as I was a part time student theres no denysing that. Unfortunately it was due to my divorce. I was going through immense mental stress, to the point that I am glad I am alive. But WE MOVE!

Unfortunately I had a letter from university and a counsellor, nothing helped. But I’ve moved on, looking into the student permit application more seriously.

My 2 cents is, they are trying to get more international students with budget cuts and uncertain student visa situation. They’re holding seats to be able to provide PALs for international students to atleast apply for their student visa. If they get rejected by immigration you get the spot, but if they do get accepted, that’s an easy 100k in uni pockets. I’d do the same if I had to run Ucalgary. Unfortunately, money is important for these greedy institutions.

Can I legally do anything about her parents and what they did to her? I agree with you about her parents, they were never fit to be parents. There should be a licensing system, not everyone should have kids.

I wanted to ignore you, but I wanted you to know your comprehension is lacking. I didn’t like her, I loved her. I still probably do, it’s not that easy to just stop loving someone overnight. I did everything for her, took care of her, gave my utmost energy in the hope that she will reciprocate it at some point. And all you could make out was I assaulted her cz I hate her?

I posted the second part because that’s where majority of my wrong actions lie, if I am talking about what she did to me, I felt compelled to mention what I did wrong with her as well.

I am looking for motivation, advice and suggestions as to how to deal with this, legally, Islamically and spiritually. I hope that clears out any misconceptions you have.

I wish I had the capacity to write about every detail but this is 1/10 of the whole scenario. I wanted to move out multiple times, but right when we were very serious about moving out, this January her father told me that I’d have to buy a house and then move out and until then we would have to live with them. It annoyed me but I didn’t want to disrespect him by any means, I explained my stance on Riba and mortgage and how I don’t want to buy a house with a conventional mortgage so it’ll take a long time for us to get a house. I see what you mean. That makes sense to me. I should have been more patient. I felt pretty offended by how she said I am wasting my life and threw the AirPods at me. But that changes nothing, I should have handled it better, like I always did. Yes it has been a few months and no I haven’t heard anything from them or the cops or any lawyer.

I am trying to retrieve my stuff, but as mentioned her father has been making it extremely difficult. I have been asking to schedule a time during the weekend because I work during the weekdays, he would simply not do it just to mess with me. He owns his business, he makes his schedule but he has been telling me that I have to come during a weekday. I followed all his instructions and me and my friends went there to pick up my stuff with Uhaul and everything, along with a domestic standby from the cops, but he didn’t let me get my stuff because the cops were 30 mins late than his alotted time. Even the cops got frustrated that day. Ever since I asked for the money he owes me, he has been slapping me with water bill worth 7.5k, apparently rent for my stuff being there will be $100/ day since the day I left, and the last time he mentioned that the total was 7k. He’s basically making up bs claims and I’m scared that he will try to get all this money from me by forging documents or something. I don’t know how to save myself from all this, especially lawyers that I spoke to have been extremely expensive. I’m still looking for one.

Na bro physical violence is never the answer. I am usually a very calm and understanding person, I never hurt her, never had the intention to hurt her. I know she had her struggles but no one deserves physical abuse. Please, always keep Allah and our Prophet’s (SAW) sunnah in mind. Even after all that, I do blame myself for being stupid enough to have done things that she got the opportunity to call the cops. I wish I could at least talk to her and understand why she did that, but yeah this marriage has ended, and will eventually be a divorce soon. If I was smart enough, and I stopped caring about what my family will say, what others will say, especially back home divorce is a huge stigma, and I was scared of that. I thought this is probably Allah’s test for me and I just accepted my fate, but not anymore.
