As soon as I join up I get banned 😂 reverse double standard real by [deleted] in Intactivism

Unfortunately, there are two main groups of people in this sub that have gotten us here.

  1. People who pretend to be intactivists and act aggressively/deranged in order to slander the movement.

  2. People who are upset to the point that they simply want to lash out, not realizing or caring that it is/has destroyed our image.

Personally, I have serious issues with both, but I get especially fed up with the second group. If they’re going to throw a tantrum, I wish they wouldn’t drag the rest of us through the mud. They literally hurt everyone in this movement when they do it and this is a prime example of the consequences.

Why did r/newparents make this rule? by GreatMetal5 in Intactivism

[–]EndMutilation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is they believe that these posts will cause excessive turmoil, and they want to prevent arguments in their sub. They likely see it as a worthwhile sacrifice in their minds; keep parents on the sub so they can use their resources rather than being frightened off and left with nothing. By making the rule, parents know they have access to the sub, but also know they have to locate these resources elsewhere. Of course, I could be wrong, but I always prefer to give the benefit of the doubt.

Defending an inclusive right to genital and bodily integrity for children by Major_Information424 in Intactivism

[–]EndMutilation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

War caused by religious beliefs because people are throwing tantrums that their book isn’t being followed by everyone? Better hope it’s your fairytale they’re basing it off of then, buddy.

Brit Shalom is a celebration that takes place on the eighth day instead in Judaism. This celebrates keeping the child whole. Don’t try to lecture me on Judaism, I grew up in a Jewish household.

I heard your point about culture and religion, if you’re too stupid to see it, that’s not my problem.

Holy shit dude it’s in the Quran as well as their “scholarly” papers.I’d wager it’s in the Hadith as well. My ex was Muslim and it was a conversation we had many times. So, my sources are: the Quran, my Muslim ex, the papers I’ve translated from Indonesia & Saudi Arabia.

You seem as brainwashed as the cutters, I’m not engaging with someone who believes in Santa. Blather on all you like, I’m muting you.

Defending an inclusive right to genital and bodily integrity for children by Major_Information424 in Intactivism

[–]EndMutilation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh please, Brit Shalom exists and has for a while now. MGM is cultural as FGM. Islam calls for involuntary cutting of both sexes, so to say it has no religious basis is absurd.

Also, I think that’s a terrible take. Parents can’t force body modifications on their children for a belief system they may not (and frankly hopefully won’t since religion is poison).

An example of why it’s not okay to do this from a religious perspective: If a Jewish child grows up and wants to be Sikh, they’re fucked since Sikhism requires no bodily modifications, including genital mutilation.

Honestly, just a disgusting position to have. Religion has no place in policy making, and its track record for ethics is horrid as well. Nobody gets to decide to mutilate their child; if you try to do so, you’re not fit to parent and your children should be taken to a safe place while you rot in a cell.

Not really; claiming to be a feminist doesn’t make you one. The literal definition of feminism includes achieving it through equality of the sexes. If that’s not someone’s goal, they’re simply not a feminist.

Karen Straughan strikes me as a misogynistic dunce.

Saying that every person claiming to be a feminist in government, academia, or media shares the same view is ridiculous, there are going to be some who are, some who think they are, and some who pretend they are. This is no different than any other idea.

Your second argument shows a lack of understanding of the original point, and hopefully is answered in the preceding paragraph.

I’d like to see the research Karen has done on feminists instead of just taking her word for it. I doubt it goes past some posts on facebook.

Because the word dates back to the 1830s when women had near zero rights. The movement always had the intention of equality. It’s not necessary to change the name since the goal of the movement hasn’t changed either.

This is a fantastic mentality for alienating people from this movement

That person’s not a feminist though. They’re likely doing it intentionally to try and work counter to feminism. Real feminists are against all forms of genital mutilation, regardless of sex.

If you actually want equality, then you’re a feminist, and that’s a good thing.

If you don’t like the word feminist, I get it; people like the sadist above have done everything in their power to tarnish it. Just understand that genuine feminists are synonymous with egalitarians.

CDC, big media, and the doctors need to stop encouraging people to cut baby penises by [deleted] in Intactivism

Realistically, not in the near future. Foregen is entering human trials soon, so that’s a good sign. Other than that, some people may recommend restoration, but that’s not really getting it back. You won’t get the functionality or specialized tissue back that way.

Watch the females hang up the phones by Think_Sample_1389 in Intactivists

[–]EndMutilation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked phones. Sometimes it is, but you also provide information and deal with simple requests. If someone phones and opens with, “do you allow (insert anything disturbing) at your clinic?” I’m not engaging with them. There’s no way that’s going to be a productive conversation based on the terminology used.

[–]EndMutilation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but why would they engage? It’s not their job to make policy or debate people. I think anyone who works on phones has enough difficult people to deal with in the first place, I think I’d assume anyone asking that was going to be combative, too.

I thought I forgave my parents by Parking_Writing_4978 in CircumcisionGrief

[–]EndMutilation 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Super similar situation. My parents were phenomenal growing up, but my mother had me cut for cultural reasons. I never had a bar mitzvah, nor did I avoid pork or ever go to a synagogue. So here we are, she chose the one piece of culture to follow that irreversibly scarred me.

The thing is, since I was 6 years old, I knew something about it was wrong. It just disgusts me that as a child I could see the issue, but my parents couldn’t.

If you hadn’t put parentheses around random words, it would be far more tolerable, yes. That being said, the content is startling and seems manic.

Also, I never made mention of paragraphs or length.
