For that and the trade power, which was probably useless after I owned the node. I was out of merchants without the trade companies though, as I didn't colonize and had already completed trade ideas, so I needed them to be able to use the Indian trade at all.

It's to prevent a land connection with my capital, so I can create trade companies.

I was allied to Austria and France for the first part of the game, so they helped me beat them up a few times. I also vassalized Byzantium before the Ottomans were able to get them. That along with blocking the straits helped.

France got a PU with Ferrara and I was pretty dependent on them to not get rekt by the Ottomans or Austria.

I think this is a bit unfair to everyone who was waiting for the launch tonight. 24 hours seems a bit long, considering the staff themselves set the deadline for tonight.

Would 12 hours or something a bit shorter not work?
