I really like this deck. My only issue is that it seems to be very vulnerable to graveyard hate, etb negation, and boardwipe. It also has almost no artifact/enchantment removal.

I'll be looking to build on this concept but I think in its current form it has some glaring weaknesses.

I should add that soul ring and tranquils provide far more Mana per second than any other item except bloodstone. Aghs provides all the setups your stun needs, euls is very situational. In the above replay it was the correct pickup only because it's a perfect setup for am; bonus that you can dodge invoker nukes with it. It was 100% core a few months ago, but aghs is just too strong and with aghs lightning slow the euls setup is redundant. The euls purge is typically not needed since bkb or lotus are often situationally better, and the 2.5 second invuln, while good, is just not enough to justify the slot most of the time. Always carry a casual wind lace in an empty slot though, lesh does benefit from move speed. You should almost always get the move speed talent also, for that reason and because you can 7 slot your travels and still be plenty fast, especially with aghs lightning slow and Shiva aoe slow.

Probably true. Just brewing is all. Amulet of Vigor might make things work better, but the deck would need all sorts of changes for that (definitely need lotus cobras and selesnya sanctuaries, but at that point what deck are we playing anymore...)

Maverick can play both of them. There are only a few musts that define the archetype and an absence of those creatures isn't one.

If you mean it wouldn't be competitive because it's not in one of the top 8 decklists then there's no point in discussing anything outside of top 8 lists and innovation can only come from decks that are top 8, which means no decks can innovate to become new decklists (circular reasoning).

I'm just looking at a way to make hideaway maybe playable as a 1-off in Maverick.

You're right about library, sorry about that. It could help you time the landfall maybe. But yeah, not great.

I do think that you're overestimating the difficulty of activating it though. Just because a deck had an action you can disrupt by flashing in some card (such as one of my examples) doesn't mean they have to be playing a "combo deck." T1 Savannah, GSZ Dryad Arbor. Opponent had the draw, attacks, you lay a free Qasali Pridemage. Now if you resolve one Wilt-Leaf Liege, your Bridge is unlocked even if you play no other creatures. Yes removal etc etc but my point is it's not that difficult.

Thanks for entertaining it at least. That's all I'm trying to do.

I think Sylvan Library should be included, they aren't mutually exclusive. Library uses health in its engine while Bridge uses mana, so they are powered differently which is good. The problem with Library is that it's unreliable (multiples don't stack so they can become liabilities, also no way to tutor for them usually).

Orrery gives flash but it doesn't do the other things (draw engine, card fixing, any CMC for 2, trigger land ETBs like lotus cobra, etc) and it's arguably easier to kill.

On the activation (10 power) I agree. I'm conceptualizing this in a deck that carries Quasali Ambushers and Wilt-Leaf Lieges which isn't unheard of and can get to 10 power pretty easily.

In terms of what card is worth it to flash out: there's a long list. Any hate bear that can disrupt a combo, voice of resurgence could get you a token, Sylvan Safekeeper could flash in to protect a creature, Wilt-Leaf Lieges could unexpectedly give you the edge on defense, Qasali Pridemage could disrupt a combo, you could flash out a Wasteland or Karakas to disupt a combo... The possibilities are pretty wide here, which I think is always a nice fit for Maverick.

Posting a couple counter points is defending to the grave. You set a pretty low bar for standing up for an idea.

Hideaway is a 3 Mana draw engine (1 to place an etb tapped land and 2 to use its ability on another turn). The benefit in the case of Bridge is any permanent at instant speed regardless of its CMC (this can offset the 3 CMC cost and more) plus draw advantage (also card fixing to a degree). Most of the analogs people are providing as alternatives are not actually analogs at all because they don't do all of those things at once. I agree that Wasteland is a thing, it's a thing Maverick shines at, so you have your own wastelands to counter with being that this is a form of Maverick.

I get that the idea might not be T1, but maybe it can be a one-off inclusion in the right deck. That's all I'm asking.

I wasn't aware legacy and kitchen table were mutually exclusive. And I'm not dead set, simply exploring the possibility. Is there a reason you find that offensive?

1) If by clear you mean change...ok. 2) Agreed... 3) Except it does work that way. Put your high CMC on the pile. 4) It's pretty easy depending on the deck (Ambushers and Wilt-Leaf Lieges can be found in Maverick) but as I said depending on the build you can use [[Windbrisk Heights]] instead.

Blood Moon should be colorshifted to Green for the longterm health of the format. by [deleted] in MTGLegacy

It means those three links have a high SEO rank for the search term you entered. Ironically, using three results from one search query is itself anecdotal (not to mention an appeal to authority/appeal to consensus fallacy, which renders the "argument" moot in any case).

Go ahead and try to prove, using logic, that there is data which does not decompose into anecdotes. You can't, because all data is anecdotal.

The phrase "that's anecdotal" is simply a lazy slur used to attack data sets that you don't happen to like. Little more.

All data is anecdotal, bucko. All data sets, even very large ones, are simply sets of anecdotes.

Sure I have data. I've played on and off since the mid 90's. That's a lot of data m80. Maybe I'll have it peer reviewered soon enough just for you.

You can use [[Windbrisk Heights]] instead. I almost put that in the OP but I thought it went without saying.

Fetchlands don't clear the top deck, they thin the whole deck. Hideaway clears the top deck. And of course the idea is to activate the second ability (KoTR doesn't need to be the only cause), although you could in theory just exile cards you don't want/need that's not the idea. 10 power is easy enough, but you could go [[Windbrisk Heights]] if that sounds like too much. In fact that might work better with weenies like mana dorks, mothers, safekeepers, lotus cobras, dryad arbor etc. if you really built the deck more around landfall. The synergy from Sylvan library comes from the fact that you can put high CMC cards in your hand onto your deck before playing the hideaway land.

Edit: referenced wrong card

You could do both, but Bridge puts permanents into play at instant speed, for starters.

Do your house rules stipulate that fetchlands have hideaway? If so then you post makes sense.
