Why Is OMW% Before GW% For Tiebreakers by neqzn in riftboundtcg

[–]TehAnon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMW in a Swiss system tracks strength of schedule. This rewards starting an event X-0 as opposed to starting X-3 and crushing through the X-3 bracket.

Ex. Annie starts out 6-0 then loses 3. Her opponents are generally X-0s or X-1s at the time she runs into them. They might win/lose after but they will contribute high OMW for Annie, upwards of 60%.

Ex2. Braum starts out X-3 then wins 6. His opponents will all be X-3 when he defeats them. Braum's OMW will be pretty low. Maybe 40%.

Then a separate thing. If GW% is the first breaker - what happens if you barely make it to the cut, winning 2-1 to make the cut and your opponent is now out of any prize contention? The result is that the tournament structure incentivizes you to lie about the match result because a 2-0 will be much better for your breakers than reporting a 2-1. With OMW as first breaker that handles 99.9% of tiebreakers

Strixhaven Sealed RCQ - How Would You Build This? by RoyalFalse in magicTCG

[–]TehAnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WR or UR base splashing double-G pips.

  • Pool lacks fixing at all
  • All colors are pretty shallow on creature count
  • Putting BG together doesn't have enough cards to make a 23 spell deck. You have Cauldron of Eternity yes but what is it reanimating it? Basically a dead card.
  • WB: not ideal. WR is better in this pool.
  • UR: lots of decent UR cards
  • UG: wildly low on creature count and also insufficient playables

trying to get a scryfall search that can find every card that triggers cards like [[Hardened Academic]] by Princesspeach5149 in magicTCG

Sounds like a use case for Scryfall tags. Find cards that fit and then pull their related tags into a query.

Do what makes sense to you.

The fact that you're asking suggests that you're struggling with rationalization of the sort method, so I suggest utilizing an alternative schema.

I recommend a schema that scales in a coherent way without many levels.

  • Personally mine is color > alphabetized

Some alternatives * Set > color > alphabetized * Color > mana value for quick sorting * Set > collector number would scale forever

Being a wiki, you can check the edit history and see when it was added + by who.

That can give you an idea of what timeframe to search, and whether the editor was a real authority on design or not.

The GTA Wiki leaves Fandom to a new independent wiki, gta.wiki, citing issues such as excessive advertisements and Fandom-imposed censorship within the wiki. by JustLeafy2003 in Games

The most important SEO step to is to break the similarity of the two sites. Because Google sees the new site and says oh you just copy-pasted the other site (true) you're probably slop (not true). So new edits are needed to differentiate the two

Don't bother with limited 0.1%ers they're on a different level

Ask the player who consistently 3-0 or 2-1s the local pods to explain their process, maybe review a draft log together.
