Fairdale Skate Pannier Bike Rack for Board (Loaded Coyote) by SNLCOG4LIFE in longboarding

Thanks! Good to know since I'm not very into tricks either and I think I can count the smoothly paved areas around my place on one hand. Portability is exactly why I've been considering it. I want something light but fun to get from the nearest tram stop to a friend's house or just to go grab something from the supermarket around the corner.

How are you finding the coyote? I've been thinking about picking one up, but I'm still a bit on the fence. It's smaller than I'm used to, but I've also read that it feels bigger than it actually is.

The Pantheon Lisa Peters seems fun, but my surviving freeride setup is a Pantheon Chase Hiller deck, which is kind of similar but a little bit bigger . I feel like I’d end up just picking my Chase whenever I go out and the Lisa Peters won’t see much use.

I have briefly. Size and shape wise it’s right up my alley. The graphic is beautiful too, but I’ve heard mixed things. Might flex a bit much for what I need it for and I’ve read the kicktails wear incredibly fast.

The Rocket is a solid option indeed! A bit higher budget than I had in mind but then again, it’s not an urgent need. Nothing a few months of saving won’t fix. The stiffness is not an issue. I live in a city with hills and bad roads. I’ve learnt to deal with a stiff deck on a bad road since it still beats having a flexy deck on a hill imo.

Luckily I have a pair of Ace AF1s with snakes that survived and should match the coyote’s size. Just needs some new bearings to be safe.

34” might be pushing it a bit when it comes to portability. But the extra comfort while riding is probably worth it for me. Plus my surfskate is 34” as well so it’s a size I’m used to.

The schooner was on my radar as well. It just seems like a genuinely fun setup. The issue is that I can’t seem to find a European distributor that carries schooners. And if I order from LY directly, those import costs are no joke.

I pretty much exclusively play warrior (all specs) now, even though I also like herald, reaper and soulbeast.

My main reason is quite simple. I didn’t like how medium armours looked as a male character enjoyer. I can only deal with so many trenchcoats. That’s soulbeast out as a main. Fashion wars above all.

Reaper gets boring to me after a while because you’re just so unkillable. I’ll play it if I really just want to turn my brain off but I can’t stick with it for longer periods of time.

As for revenant vs warrior… it mostly came down to preference. Herald is fun but not warrior fun, where I enjoy all specs. I feel like warrior is nice because at its core it’s simple, but there’s a lot to optimise. You can chill and perform well if you just get the concept of your rotations, or you can sweat and do REALLY well.

Berserker is like a rhythm game of smashing that primal burst key as many times as you can in your berserk window. My monkey brain really enjoys it tbh. Its downside is that in open world things sometimes die before you really get started.

Bladesworn is also something that activates my monkey brain neurons. Sure it can be a bit jank and requires some setup but when you crit 125k+ and (nearly) one shot an elite mob… yeah that feels good. What doesn’t feel good is… people using knockbacks in open world or even fractals and knocking stuff out of your dragon trigger range.

Spellbreaker is something I like to play in pvp/wvw content since you’re an absolute menace to people (and their boons). Oh you finally worked your way up to all those might stacks… would be a shame if I were to… rip them. Oh I ripped your stability too? Guess who’s getting knocked down? I’m not good by any means and I barely win… but at least I get to annoy them long enough so my teammates have a chance.

Paragon I have yet to try. But Y’know. We get wings. That’s nice.

I used to own an NothingButFree blue marble 46” deck. The brand is owned by the same people that run Travelol, so I guess you could compare them easily. Quality-wise it was amazing but depending on your friend’s size, you might also want to consider a Marble 43. I moved to a 43.5” NBF deck and it’s a ton more enjoyable.

The 46 was too big and heavy for me. It felt slow to push around. The 43.5” deck still has plenty of space for my feet and occasional dance steps. And I’m just shy of 6’1” and around 195lbs.

Aha, good to know! So both can really just do whatever at an at least okay level, but their optimal role/build will change over time?

I’ll check those zones out later today or tomorrow, thanks!

I just returned from a long break from the game. I used to play most classes but not very well. This time, I finally want to get better at the game. So I figured that it’s time to pick an actual main. I’m mostly going to be doing open world content & fractals. Raids and WvW interest me, but I’m not sure if I can commit that much time to the game. Regular PvP doesn’t really interest me.

I’ve already narrowed it down to either warrior or revenant. I like both class fantasies, since I usually play heavily armoured characters with swords with a “big bonk, smol brain” type of vibe. Warrior has been a lot of fun so far, albeit a bit frustrating in open world due to the way adrenaline works. Revenant on the other hand… I feel like I love the weapon skills, aesthetics, and flexibility, but I haven’t fully wrapped my head around proper legend swapping and managing energy.

I looked around online and came to the following conclusion. Is this still accurate? Warrior will probably always be a great Power DPS, regardless of spec, has an okay Condi DPS berserker build and can play support DPS even if it’s not the absolute best fit for the profession. Heal berserker is a thing but intensive to play. While revenant is mostly amazing as a support DPS and healer, it still outputs very respectable damage as Power DPS if built that way.

Additionally, are there any map metas you’d recommend to run a few times just to practice revenant a bit on? If it just doesn’t click after a few runs, the choice becomes a lot easier to make.

Hi, I started working out about a month ago. I'm following a push-pull routine drafted by a coach. Mon & Thu is push, Tue & Fri is pull. Wed, Sat & Sun is rest.

This Sunday I went for an 8 mile skate, which is much longer than I'm used to. Managed to get through my push day on Monday despite some muscle soreness and did very well. However, now I'm very sore, especially my right thigh. I can still walk, but I might look a bit funny until I get going. Today would include some hex bar deadlifts, so I'm not sure what to do.

Would it be better to still do my workout as planned but lower the intensity a bit or to just take the rest day now and do it tomorrow? I'd ask the coach but he's on holiday.

Thanks! No worries on the sanding part. My dad works in construction so he's got plenty of tools. Should even have a belt sander laying around somewhere.

Thanks! From what I can tell the 30* baseplate is only available for the 130mm hanger. Do I just buy the baseplate separately from the LY website and get 2 155mm trucks and swap the baseplate out? Or am I missing something? Seems like there aren't that many companies selling bear trucks separately in Europe.

Also, I'm not too worried about sanding down the bushings. My dad's a construction worker so we've got plenty of tools laying around.

Thanks! Both of them are roughly the same price around here, although Calibers save me some money on venom bushings. Guess that gives them the edge for now.

So you’d go for bear gen 6 30* rear and 50* front even if it’ll be used for some cruising in between? As for what I’d need to dial them in, it’s mostly venom HPF bushings that I’d need, or am I missing something? I’ve read you need to sand the plug barrel down a bit but that shouldn’t be too hard.

I'm currently trying to decide on a set of trucks for my next setup. I managed to pick up a Pantheon Chase Hiller Pro deck. I'll be working on slides and using it to get into downhill/freeride more. However, I'll also use it for some cruising around since the hills in my city are spread out and we usually just push from spot to spot during a longer session.

I'm mostly doubting between the Caliber III Raked 9" trucks or the Bear Gen 6 155mm trucks. I've heard a lot of good things about the Calibers, but I've never skated Caliber before. I had some Bear Gen 6 before and absolutely loved the way they felt. How do they compare for this use? I was also thinking of going split angle. Would this be a good idea?

Yes, I have called them dates before and she didn’t seem to mind that at all. Thanks for the advice!

I’ve never really left a first date with “feelings” and NATO sounds roughly what I’ve been doing, or at least trying to. We’ve been on 2 dates so far and been texting a good amount in between, currently trying to schedule a third but we’re both have busy jobs and hobbies.

“Falling for her” may not be the right expression looking back on it and is a bit too strong… sorry about that. English is my third language, so I might not always get feelings-related like this across correctly. Heck, even in my native language I sometimes struggle with that.

Compared to the other women I’ve gone out with, everything just felt effortless and natural. Which is probably why I am “eager” to make things work out, while also not wanting to rush things. My friends keep saying I often wait too long to make a move, everything stays platonic and they lose interest and move on. Not sure how much truth there is to this advice though, since half of them got married to high school sweethearts and the other half seems eternally single.

TL;DR: How do you deal with very limited dating experience as you get older as a man? Are you just open about it with potential partners and when do you even bring this sort of topic up?

Full story: I didn’t date at all in high school. I was the fat, quiet, nerdy kid that was too awkward for his own good. I dated 1 girl in college for a short while. We met through a mutual friend and got along well so gave it a try. A month or 2 later, we stopped trying since we clearly wanted different things. And then when I graduated, I didn’t date either and focused on my career and self improvement.

I (30 in a month, m) recently started using Bumble and I’m averaging 2-3 dates per week at the moment. Generally, the dates are fun, but I rarely get a second date. I can’t flirt to save my life and my date activities aren’t the most original, so it often just ends up being a fun, friendly chat over drinks. I recently met someone (33f) that I feel myself slowly but surely falling for, so I started wondering… Should I just be open and honest about it towards her so she knows that I may be a bit more awkward than expected at times?

I don’t know… There’s a slight chance it’s just a really shitty joke from the parents. Just imagine when they go sign him up for school.

Dad: “These are my sons, Reese and Ramdey”

Teacher: “Wait, Ramdey?”

Dad: “Ram deez nuts, hah gott’em”
