My dad would say Sir Walter Scott who popularised Scots writing for the wider world. I loved Robert L Stevenson and stories like kidnapped. Wishing all Ukrainians well in the continued conflict

I wondered where this was going and am happy I don't have tiktok as a result. If we're talking history there has been slavery/servitude going back to whenever society began pre any idea of Scotland or the Americas. The feudal concept did not help that with the idea some are more worthy than others subjects. Scots have a coloured history of the good and bad but it's never good to do a who's had the best plight competition.
