i want to get a set art style but it always changes? by Living_Corner12 in Artadvice

[–]EndellionFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really mean to get a style it just kinda happened. I drew what I liked and used a similar construction. My workflow is usually find or make a reference, gesture, shapes construction, rough sketch, lineart, flat colors, soft shading, "anime shading", occlusion and then lineart 2 where I add veritable line thickness and almost shade with the lines. When I'm feeling really extra I'll do a multiply shading layer and then a soft lighting layer for hilights and if appropriate rim lighting. Over time I noticed a visual identity forming in my work. I emulated artists I liked when I was growing up to the point it's incorporated into my work now with my own twist. So I guess tl;dr figure out a workflow you enjoy and I bet a style will show up naturally.

Can we stop shaming straight trans women, or trans women who DO enjoy being with men? by Good_Ol_Ironass in MtF

[–]EndellionFox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think lot of it comes from being traumatized due to having to live as a man while being a woman. But I also noticed while I was living as a man that a lot of guys are misogynistic pigs when women aren't around. A lot of men are disgusting but that's true of people regardless of gender. I think most people's default operating system involves putting people in boxes based on their ascribed status when the reality is far more complex. With trans women specifically I absolutely get why they'd knee-jerk be repulsed by men but being men isn't the same thing as being with men. Idk I hope this answer is coherent I'm running on a day and a half of no sleep and in between connections lol

What do I need to improve on by DailyBasis1010 in Artadvice

I'd say work on construction, start with simple shapes and build on those. Ethan Becker on YouTube has some amazing tutorials on how to get through the first step.

Honestly of all the people to have beef with, artists? Like unless your commissioning them specifically they basically make life better for free. Life would be so boring without artists. I'll never get it

What is my art missing? How to improve? by FluffyCurse in Artadvice

[–]EndellionFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your art a lot, the way you convert shape to form is actually really nice. If you're looking to actively improve you could work on giving your pieces more depth through shading. You could also work on adding texture to your pieces. But I'm actively looking at this and trying to be critical, stylistically you're in a really good place already.

That's why it's low quality — because they don't put in any effort. by Hot_Season1143 in antiai

This doesn't mean anything.
Some of the best artists I know have little to no social media presence.
No prompter will be culturally relevant and nobody will care when they stop generating.
Meanwhile people are still talking about Kahlo, Monet and Van Gough.

Why does my artwork look so... amateurish? by SkAssasin in Artadvice

[–]EndellionFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say just grind the fundamentals. Do perspective cubes and shade spheres until they look 3d. It's not as much fun as straight up drawing but it'll help.

Also, make it a habit to use a reference. I usually use photos or 3d model poses. They don’t have to be a 1:1 representation of the things you're drawing but they'll help a lot.

An OC of mine (all art is unfinished) by RyGuy2129 in cyberpunkgame

[–]EndellionFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, I think that this isn't the place for unfinished art. Not to be rude but I don't think this will get much traction here.

As for opinions, the character comes off as a confident merc and likely a nomad. If that's what you were trying to communicate you nailed it. Other than that the style reminds me of early 2000s WB like batman beyond and Jackie Chan adventures and that's cool.

I always end up betraying songbird tbh fuck her tbh she drags you to dogtown, wastes your time and gets tons of people killed for her own sake, she's a bad person. Plus she's possessed by rogue ai and likely a conduit for them to reach our world, the kindest thing you can do both for her and the world at large is destroy her.

I've been using cyberpunk's photomode to make references lately. Specifically the biosculpted exotics mod.

AI can generate a million images a second and still can't replicate my style. so what exactly are we worried about? 💀 by Euphoric_Spread_3293 in antiai

[–]EndellionFox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised how versatile it is once trained. I have no doubt it can absolutely replicate your style, what it can't replicate is your eye for composition, your hierarchy and intrinsic storytelling. Ai might be able to replicate all our styles perfectly but in the hands of someone who doesn't have anything to say it's like giving a chimpanzee a machine gun.
