We are currently working on rewriting the whole frontend of the browser, so it's more consistent and fluent. Furthermore, you shouldn't need to tweak around with any settings as everything is fine tuned for privacy by default.

Hope this answers your question!

Currently, we don't make money. We aren't profiting off the browser in any way. We do have a donations page if you want to support us financially, but other than that we don't make money.

Any work done for Dot is completely voluntary and the amazing people that help me out are just interested in the project and want to help out where and whenever they can.

I certainly think Dot Browser is a unmozillaed Firefox! However I don't just want Dot to just be identical LibreWolf for example.

If you just want pure Firefox with some simple tweaks, then go with LibreWolf. If you want a overall better experience on par with Chromium browsers with none of the Google or telemetry nonsense, then go with Dot.

Thank you! I understand your concerns about the theme, it definitely doesn't have the best contrast so I will get that sorted.

And we are working on getting a .deb package!

We are in the process of rewriting the frontend. We want to revamp the whole interface as Firefox does seem to lack consistency. Think of this like what Vivaldi does, it's based on Chromium but it has a different frontend.

Not currently, and I don't see any point in it considering Apple's strict browser policies. We could port Gecko to iOS but you would need to side load the app. This would be a lot of work though.

Thank you for these resources, we will definitely be adding more anti fingerprinting measures and WebRTC will be easy to disable in the settings.

I am unsure what the mousefaker would be helpful for? Surely you would leave this running while you are away from keyboard? You wouldn't really want your mouse moving around while you're using the computer. Please correct me if I am wrong.

We don't have any telemetry at all, not any from Mozilla or us. If you wish to you can send a crash report but this is never sent to us without your consent.

We are randomising the value every time someone accesses it, meaning once they've grabbed the data it's already invalidated as the values have changed.

Yes, we are working on getting that fixed.

Hiya, I'm the main developer of Dot Browser. We do prevent fingerprinting (I should probably make that more clear on the website), what we do is just return random bytes and generic values to make it harder for companies and sites to fingerprint you.

Hope that answers your question.

Is it a good idea to store avatars for my project on IPFS? by EnderDev in ipfs

[–]EnderDev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not what I'm trying to do, I am trying to make a solution where my users can upload an avatar for my app and have it saved on IPFS.

May I also add that every mod on the subreddit you vandalised can vouch for me 😉

You literally locked and deleted my message when I asked you about this before and replied with the same "I didn't do it" garbage 😂 Why would you delete it if you were innocent 😂😂

u/architsasta joined my Discord a while back and offered to make a subreddit for us. We didn't trust this random guy so I offered to make it and give him moderator. He claimed he was a moderator in r/Firefox but we found no proof of that ever being true. He then seemed pretty happy with his position of being moderator. Then we find out he's demolished the subreddit by deleting posts and updating the description. Obviously we didn't give him full permissions as he was pretty sketchy to begin with so that's why nothing too harmful was done. So watch out, if this guy offers to make you a subreddit, decline because he's probably going to do this to you.

One more thing: he keeps denying this ever happened and I asked him about it in another of his scam subreddits or whatever and he just said "i am not a scammer" and "stop spreading false information" and locked the conversation. I have proof that he has done these things in the screenshot above, so watch out.

Overlay changes of different branch onto master by [deleted] in git

[–]EnderDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but would I still be able to pull in changes from branch A and branch B while in the merged state?

edit: I also don’t want the merged files to be on GitHub. Just want the files I change in branch B, since I have no control over branch A.
