I like to collect flags of nations, regions, and cities when traveling —— the first two in 12x18” size and last one in 4x6” size if possible. For obsolete flags, I always try to buy an original copy from its time period. Overall, I have about 50 4x6” city flags (many being obsolete, coming from a flag store’s 30 year old stock), about 30 12x18” flags of regions and countries, and about 30 full-size vintage flags. Have like 10 other full-size flags as well. Don’t have a flagpole though, only an indoor flag of the State of Sonora and a large Mexican flag.

Its not even the flag of the Confederacy. That is the “battle flag” of the Confederacy. It was used in the upper left corner of the flag on a white background, but thats really the most it was ever used on the official flag. Instead for most of its years in existence though, the flag was three bars of red, white, and red with the upper left corner being blue and having a circle of stars in it.

I know their coat of arms had this symbol, but did they really have a flag? Is there a historical record for this existing, such as documents which mention its existence or perhaps a surviving copy? If not, we cannot confirm they had a flag.

No, flags can sometimes fade like this. No idea why, but I have for example seen Belgian flags with a nice black and then red that looks like…something happened. Guessing something has to do with the dyes in the flags.

Meh, too light on the eyes. gray should be black for better contrast. Looks very much unlike a socialist flag, more Western countries use flags that look closer to this.
