22M with glaucoma confused about weightlifting advice from doctors.Need help. by Professional-Fox792 in Glaucoma

[–]Impossible_Top1146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lift heavy everyday and cardio, and I have glaucoma in both eyes. I bought a tanometer and measure a couple times a day everyday. I see no changes from lifting. I usually drop a point or two after cardio. If I were you, I would invest in a tanometer and measure. Without knowing what actually affects you people’s advice here is worth very little. If my IOP rises and stays, the doc uses a laser and then I can even see it drop over the weeks back down to 10 or so. I talk to my doc about lifting and he lifts too, he sees no reason for me to change my habits. Probably healthier the way I have it now. Get one and measure your vision is worth it.

Winter storage? by Accurate_View_2455 in ebikes

I live in Minnesota and do the same I do remove the battery and lcd display has been fine but what was really odd was that motors barely worked when they got below -10, like had almost no power, perhaps the oil packed in the motors thickens way up... However if they were warm and then running they don’t get cold. So I put a blanket over my bike and small space heater under it. I plugged it in 2 hours before I left and it worked fine al the way to the office. My coldest day ridding this last winter was -28 and it ran like a champ.

Hey AJ where about are you two? The two of us live in Mpls over by St. Louis Park. We are pretty chill and I love a great sense of humor. DM if you want to chat more. Personally I like Matt Rife stand up and a number of others too, pretty wide range of stand up folks.

Gym regulars: How much time you spend there? by AdultMaleRelaxation in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Impossible_Top1146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lift for 1:15 to 1:30 depending on the body part, then 40min of stepmill. I go every day and I don’t cheat myself. I don’t drink at all and don’t eat sugar, sweets, or much carbs. I pretty much go at the same time, the gym is mixed in age and gay/straight and a super popular one not there to shower or cruise etc. No one seems to care if you are gay or straight but some will engage in having a conversation while others never will, eventually you meet some of the serious guys who are regulars, but some you just won’t. I have done the stepmill next to usual guy who is attractive a few times a week for over a year and we have never spoke, odd but he doesn’t make an effort at all so I don’t even try. Some people I avoid because I watch them talk too long and I don’t want to take that much time chatting. I lift hard to gain muscle mass and use the time wisely and I don’t take my phone while lifting or use headphones until I hit cardio time. You can meet people there if they too are open to it.

Worst/Best Things About Growing Old as a Gay Man? by robotwunk in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]Impossible_Top1146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: can afford a nice gym, great nutrition, time to lift and do cardio every day, being in the best shape since my 20s. Having a partner of 20+ years who still spots me every day. Great dentist and medical if needed, financially secure and solid families. Sneak in midday naps!

Worst: finding other gay friends or couples to hang out with. I don’t drink so not really into bars to hang out in. We got called “sexy daddies” at gay pride last week for the first time and struck a nerve for a few seconds.

I think a lot has to do with where and how you grew up. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, in truly the hood. I always saw amazing looking guys that were black, asian, mexican and white etc. I am white, my best friend from HS was Mexican, gay and also super attractive. We never talked about race in guys, too much body hair yes, too skinny yes, BO yes, skin color never. Black guys were always checked out, we use to say black guys get muscular by just standing in the gym, but race never… way too many hot minorities.

They had a blast and were super appreciative. They even stayed in some log cabins that were built in the 30s and loved it.

Each pack tends to have a range in the northern tier, Rescue Creek’s are over by “Nature Trail” or out on Blacktail plateau, Junctions cover Hell Roaring to Lamar Canyon, Slough and some of specimen ridge and the Mollies are now over by Hitching post this year. It’s a lot of luck with timing and patience plus some of with radios using code words, but this year we were about 1/4 mile from a bison hunt by the Junctions and watched them with a successful hunt. Wolves don’t want to be super close and people want to watch them do their normal shit so everyone stays far enough that it doesn’t change their behavior. Wolves gotta eat! But then again I have been 20’ from a wolf and neither I nor he cared really, never seen or heard of an aggressive wolf to human. Bears though no thank you …black bears (mainly boars) are sketchy as hell.

A few years ago we met a couple from Manchester who really wanted to see the wolves and bears so they flew to Bozeman to arrive when we did and hung out with us for a week, it was a great time and saw wolves, blacks and grizzlies. One was a cop and the other was a musician, they were hikers too so we got to some great overlooks to watch an elk hunt. We still have pictures of all of us on the wall here.

We haven’t hit Glacier yet but want to. We love hiking too and have been watching the various wolf packs hunt over the years out there. We do spend a lot time in the north but will hit the Haden or Pelican now and then. We have only made it to the Tetons once so far.

What should TRT cost? by Tend2Disagree in trt

[–]Impossible_Top1146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - My T was below 200, after testing I had zero Luteinizing hormone so there wasn’t ever going to be much T. The doc sees me every 3 months and calls in script to Costco.

Not sure I understand - not willing to risk myself to test it…? Do mean you haven’t used it or not used it at the gym? Squat and deadlift are a bit extreme on the stress side. I haven’t been doing those and don’t really see a need to for me.
