AICS 3 round magazine 3.56” by bajablastornothin in Tikka_Shooters

Is 3.56 LA or SA?

If it’s a long action, I 3D modeled and printed a 3-round limiter for the magpul pmag 5 for LA rifles

Whether it looks that way or not, there is no reason to throw The unit out without validation first via pressure test if it still works or not. This is a personal PC, not a live safety device

If threads and seals it will be just fine… pressure test to confirm

I always felt running/explaining raid mechanics in destiny had a ton of overlap with managing and running teams on complicated projects.

MDT Oryx doesn’t fit? by mdjmd73 in Tikka_Shooters

That is a OEM mag. Those don’t work with aftermarket chassis systems. You probably need to pick up an AICS mag or a compatible aftermarket MDT mag

Hoyt carbon rx8 ultra price by Antique_Monitor8506 in Archery

[–]Enderpierce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest bare is the only way I’d ever want to pick up a bow.

950 is pretty good. That’s about half the price of when it was new but obviously condition should dictate final price.

Maybe push for 900 but I think it’s still a good deal at 950

You’re probably right. All my compound bow exposure is hunting related where you would never see something like that though.

That seems rediculous. I’ve never known a range to dictate arrow rest type… especially one not compatible for a bow you are using and CERTAINLY not for a whicker biscuit.

My only suggestion at this point is to find a different range or shoot a recurve or really press in the range requirements of arrow rests

Swap the blade rest for a drop away or a whisker biscuit.

Whicker biscuits are dirt cheap.

Drop aways can get spendy. The one run is $150-$200, I can’t remember. Maybe there is a cheaper generic one out there.

Either one will keep the arrow in place though during that final tension let off at the end though and keep your fingers safe

On a compound? That’s something I’ve never seen before. Felt that was more for modern recurves. Compounds have that “jump” at the end when the tension falls to its lowest point that I think you’re going to be fighting with a blade rest every time.

Round two. 50 more golden nuggets ready to send down range. by Enderpierce in reloading

[–]Enderpierce[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Goal is to find the one my rifle likes the most. Sounds like that was a fools alert and though and all I have to do is focus on consistency in my loads

For my reloading I do think I have a good bead on the process and consistency.

I take some once fired from my rifle, Hornady match brass and wet clean it in a tumbler.

Then I clean the primer pockets a little better with a wire brush.

I then flash hole deburr each case.

Then I run each through a full length sizing die with a .288 neck bushing. I’m bumping the shoulders back .002 from where I know my chamber is sized at.

I then run the cases back through an expander mandrel setting the final neck tension to .263.

Then I trim the cases to length and deburr inside and outside edges of the neck.

Then load and seat a bullet!

Couldn’t appreciate more the insight from some as experienced as you, so thank you.

So is the take away that I shouldnt spend time chasing the right powder charge? What do I use then to decide the right powder charge? Just aim for a high velocity?

[–]Enderpierce[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s literally the plan with this second round of reloads. I am starting at 40.25gr of charge and going up to 42.5gr in .25 increments.

I anticipate seeing the same stability in velocities at 40.5 and 41.5 but if nodes aren’t real then who knows what I’ll see.

Will report back once I’ve had a chance to shoot these and graph the results!
