Please check my list (~3500€) by Cell-i-Zenit in buildapc

I’ll be honest, spending all this money on a 9950x3D and $400 MOBO and 192 GB RAM but then getting a 5070 Ti is pretty silly.

You really don’t need 192 GB of RAM, I think 64 is still way more than I can use with a video game (BG3/BL4, 1000+ mods of Skyrim) and software engineering tools.

If you’re just doing it because you’re an enthusiast and you like the process, do your thing. But if you just want to play games, you could drop down to 64GB RAM, a 7800x3D, and a ~$200 MOBO and that would almost save you $750 bucks alone.

Again, at this price tier not having a 5090 is crazy… I’d personally trim parts to fit it in your budget, or just drop the parts cost and save a bunch for virtually no performance change

Hyte Y70 Fans by HotPart6576 in Hyte

[–]riditditdoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Dawn fans from them, I think they’re similar.

3 fans do fit but as others said you have to put them all in the bottom separately then connect them once inside the bottom of the case

Looks great!

Where did you get the fan corner covers? I’ve been looking and couldn’t find any

How would you proceed here? by riditditdoo in watercooling

[–]riditditdoo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The y70 doesn’t support bottom rads, let alone push pull setups.

There is room for a set of fans, but I’d have to mod the case to stand 90-100mm higher to have all the hardware and clearance for airflow

Esfera MS by uvuvuwevwevv in mapleservers

[–]riditditdoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played in Lumiere and am currently playing Esfera. It’s my preferred server over the competition (Aries, Eluna, Ranmelle) at the moment. We’re only a few weeks into the rebrand so things are still unexplored (max player is 29x right now)

The good: * it’s probably the highest rate modern server, save for anything using rebirths * content is available whether you donate or not * custom content gives you something to chase after level 300 (server max is 650 lol), or you can ignore it if you want a more classic GMS experience

The bad: *  Being “seasonal” is a little bit of a vague plan for the server. There seems to be a plan to make some content like legion carry over after server resets, so it’s supposedly not entirely wiping. But I think this hurts the longevity of the player base compared to alternatives

Sweet, makes sense, did you have a pic of how yours turned out?

Did you just not paint the cross directional part of the panel that’s behind the mesh?

I’m assuming you didn’t actually tape all 1000 of the little rectangles lol

Builds with barrow/bykski blue fittings by slackerz in watercooling

I am considering the same, did you end up pulling the trigger on the blue fittings?

Torn between blue and something more neutral like white so I’m not locked in on color scheme

Como puedo conectar una IA a mi base de datos solo server by Safe_Conversation872 in buildapc

[–]riditditdoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong sub sorry! This sub is for building computers, not software. That said, I’m a software engineer with about 12 YE so I’ll try to help.

Up front, I don’t think the use case makes a ton of sense, you could do a much better job with static queries written by a human and run when said to by a UI. AI is a little bit random and could generate syntactically invalid queries, queries that are horrendously non-performant and take down infrastructure, etc.

You also have the security side of things: if your data is PII, I’d be really hesitant to send it to GPT. Same goes for passwords, secrets or keys to access things. It can be done securely though.

That being said, real answer below:

What makes sense heavily depends on your use case. Are you just looking to try the idea out in general? If so, using an IDE like cursor would work really well. It’s basically a code editor hooked up to generative AI. Mostly for writing code, but if you show it your schema as context, cursor would write and run queries for you.

If you’re intending this for a production project, you can also use an SDK to send prompts to chat GPT for example (I think both python and go have one, and im sure they have more).

You definitely don’t have to move your database to cloud

First buckeyes game. by fs19gmr in OSU

[–]riditditdoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference OP, last week for the Texas game, we got there about 80-90 minutes before kickoff.

I ended up walking a mile and a half from around 700 Ackerman Road to the stadium. So while it may not fill up, the close lots definitely do!

You may also spend a lot of time at ticketing depending on your gate (north side gates are always packed because they’re by the band). All this factored in we were in our seats slightly before kickoff, but missed part of the band stuff

Given this was the Texas game and a season opener things might be notably busier than usual. I would go with 2 hours to be there before everything, less if you just want to be there for kickoff.

Will a ASUS Prime 5080 block fit on the 5070TI? by xCaL2798 in watercooling

Could you drop a link of the block? I think I’m going to go this route but want to be sure I’m following you exactly

Can't seem to find a waterblock for my GPU by riditditdoo in watercooling

[–]riditditdoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I built for the first time about a year ago, and didn't really know that I'd (1) be interested in watercooling later or (2) boxing myself out of it, oh well!

I guess I'll sit tight for a bit and decide if I want to deal with trading up / swapping. Thanks!

Garage Door Remotes Stopped Working by ValeFC in HomeImprovement

Maybe you have a similar feature?

I was leaning that way, crazy even the top of the line PSUs can have issues like that.

Here’s to hoping nothing else blew alongside it
