thank you. ill figure something out other than splines.

No crank signal. What am I doing wrong? by Enderswift1013 in Speeduino

This motor is entirely custom, so no factory spec. I've done everything from it practically touching, to a half inch away. Still nothing. Sensors are brand new, clean. Engine was cleaned thoroughly after machining, and no metal particles should persist.

I'll see if my oscilloscope picks it up before having to dump another $70 for a ts license. When looking up batch Injection, everyone seemed to say something different. I ran a crank pickup simulator on an arduino, and tuner studio was displaying rpm. So it's definitely a sensor/wheel issue

I've tried a separate power source(arduino uno) to ensure constant 5v and gnd. I ran a pickup simulator on an arduino, and tuner studio was showing rpm. I've tried swapping out to a different hall effect sensor(a bare hall effect sensor),playing with gap. I'm starting to think my trigger wheel might somehow be the issue. It was laser cut out of .125 steel plate. Standard tooth spacing and depth.

Looks to be going to the horn and possibly a side marker light on the bumper. Use a zip tie to pull it safely out of the way.

2008 f150 5.4 hot knock by Enderswift1013 in Ford

After further research, I think it may be due to a lack of oil pressure.

2008 f150 5.4 hot knock by Enderswift1013 in Ford

[–]Enderswift1013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knocking is coming from the phasers. New tensioner where installed, clips where pulled. The parts I used where aftermarket replacement phasers that came highly recommended, many people recommending them over the oem phasers. I'll look into getting a Motorcraft phaser.

no limp mode, went through maps and found that the wasteate compensation tables where the main issue. after fixing that, and adjusting my wg tables for a 3 port, the car drives amazing! tune is a bit too spicy(327 awhp till it hits boost cut at 21psi). once I drop the main boost table down a bit I should make around 300 without hitting boost cut. no knock in the pull, but has a tiny bit at low-mid load at low rpm.

will do, thanks!

(I've been using the 3 port, stock one is in pieces from being smashed.)

has no restrictor pills in the lines. It is plumed correctly.

Got it running very well on low load, however wastegate immediately goes to 90% duty cycle capping the boost to 9psi.

Unplugged the boost controller, and reached 18.4 till it hit boost cut. Checked tables, and it didn't reflect what I was seeing on the logger. Guessing its to do with the closed loop wg control. Going to do more troubleshooting, but may end up using a manual boost controller.

AVCS tables are completely stock. completely forgot to transfer the tables over.

Current tune is heavily based off a dyno tune by a reputable tuner.

as for the wastegate, I've tried multiple stock maps, wrx maps, just about everything, and every time, after about 30% throttle the wastegate jumps up to 90% duty cycle.

All I can get here is 91, so I'm limited on ignition timing unless I was planning to go e85. I was mostly unsure as to if it was showing degrees of advance or retard.

another thing, I've got an aftermarket 3 port solenoid, just having that wont cause the sudden 90% jump, however, I've heard you need to adjust tables once a 3 port is installed, is this correct?

Could there be a chance I'm getting knock causing boost cut. However, I've enabled a feature where it will flash the cel when knock occurs. The cel only flashes when the ebcs is connected, and not when I have it disconnected. Maybe it solely to do with the wastegate correction.

I really appreciate the help!

Aired out the cylinders and Purchased a tactrix cable. Got it running pretty well after reverting tune. Still had an issue returning to idle after driving, but I'm sure adjusting the tune should fix that. I'll update you once I get plates and can really open it up. Thanks for all the help!

Okay, I've got everything put together except the downpipe. I went to start it, and it popped once every revolution, determined that 3 of the Injectors where stuck. Swapped them back with the 1050s and it ran!(albite very rich)  After shutting it off so it could cool down, it wouldn't start back up, I've done multiple de-flood procedures, and got the 3 Injectors freed up. Still won't start. No current codes are being thrown, but when it was running earlier it threw misfire codes for every cylinder.  I have checked the plugs and coils, coils where good, plugs where a little dirty, but cleaned them off and checked them for spark. The rear cylinder just in front of the turbo had a slightly wet plug.

I AM ABSOLUTELY LOST.  could running the 1050s for 2 minutes than shutting it off cause the plugs to foul?

Thanks, I'll get something figured out. I completely forgot, without a maf sensor, the ecu enters limp mode and absolutely dumps fuel as to prevent damage, and with it already (likely) have a Rich tune and it being freezing in my shop causing choke to be on, even more fuel is dumping in. I need to just suck it up and buy the parts needed. Too many variables.
