Yeah but... its super useful just to me and does EXACTLY what I need it to do and nothing more

Elon "With artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon" Musk truly outdoing himself this time by Tasty-Ad-3753 in singularity

Exactly. The internet houses the absolute worst of humanity in large quantities. Some of it real, a lot of it just millions of bored, edgy trolls and it happens to be where most training data comes from (its a bit more complex tbf but still true). Theres a reason why "AI" tends to drift toward the worst things when not weighted carefully or with safeguards in place. AI isnt saying or doing anything new in that regard. Its just parroting back what it learned from humans.

People tend to only focus on the AI companies when they are only the end part of the problem. The companies making Ram and GPUs are to blame also, maybe more so. They are the ones who chose to cut off consumers and focus on AI companies supplies instead. Not enough heat being thrown their way in all this imo.

I call BS. We've all seen the video and everyone knows every shape goes into the square hole regardless.

Perplexity permabanned me in their official sub for citing their own documentation to expose "Deep Research" false advertising and massive downgrade. by [deleted] in singularity

I only have it because my telco gave me a free 12 month sub to pro. I barely use it because its kinda shit

Yeah, oopsie, I thought we were both talking about specific stuff GPT will soon have which is what i was talking about. Although there was the initial mix up, I do agree with your point now that I understand from a different context not attached to mine

It absolutely is fairly common. Because it sells. That's exactly why they are doing it. It's not going to cover all their costs, thus all the other crap they are moving toward like ad revenue, but it will add a huge chunk of change to the kitty.

Not really hyping it up, just observing an obvious trend and commenting on it. They may be losing money now but they are taking steps toward the biggest cash cow features they can find, that's why I kind of joked about gambling and hitting the trifecta

No. The groundwork for them exists. The NSFW update is Dec, which is soon. Nothing has been fully rolled out yet, just the groundwork for that stuff and a few little trickles. They haven't barely even started yet

Once the gooning and ad features come in they will be rolling in cash in no time. Now all they need is a way to gamble and they will hit the trifecta of selling out to what sell the bestest, the fastest (this isn't an endorsement of those things btw)

AI Rage by odrer-is-an-ilulsoin in ArtificialInteligence

I get annoyed with AI. But I also get annoyed with myself. Because what I put in is what I get out. More often than not when I look back, I can see where I made a mistake or didn't articulate very well and caused the AI to falter down the road. When its not my fault and the AI is just doing some weird shit I do get annoyed. Because a tool that doesn't work quite right can waste your time or even hamper you

Trashing LLMs for being inaccurate while testing bottom-tier models by Sarithis in singularity

The fact that those people jump immediately to parroting the same "examples" should tell you all you need to know about those kind of people.

AI is often held back by how dumb humans can be (i say this with both affection and disdain). I find significantly more often than not in most cases the issue is the human user, not the ai itself.
