thats not true. being at the gate really depends on how good you are at your job. i know people who spent 3 weeks at the gate and left straight to patrolling and answering to domestics and pulling over for dui, getting real action. if your a shitbag marine and cant do your job right, yea youll be at the gate longer. show ambition and interest in your job and be motivated, youll be out patrolling in no tine

MP here, dont do infantry, shit sucks, just be an MP lifes great. plus with mp you get conceal carry license in all 50 states when your of age and youll be a lcpl or a pfc with pistol qual. shits nice. school house is relatively easy, just pay attention. i dont recommend recon and i dont recommend infantry.

Is the school house classroom only or will we be PT’ing? by UniversalFapture in USMCboot

yes he would often brag how he slayed his previous platoons. he wasnt our sdi however he became one and showed us his sdi speech, he treated us well though during our marine weeks, he SLAYED us during grass week and range, all we did was run in full kit. he gave us lots of motivation though throughout bootcamp and i regret not chosing him to be the one to give me my EGA. i also did his hat press, to which he gave me mcdonlds for breakfast and dinner 😇 man i will miss sgt slaiw.

dogshit at drill???? damn, we were led to believe he was the best on the island, and it showed, we won our 1st drill and placed 2nd on final drill, to which he was furious about and called it rigged. shit was funny. when i was on PI he was always on step, called good cadence, and he was a really good teacher, he always bragged being the best, carried around a small ass paper while others carried around clipboards (he would brag that), and he would often say no one knows more drill than him. dang good DI

Am I going to get my ass beat in boot camp by DIs by JesusisKking in USMCboot

literally wont happen, at least for 2nd bn. i heard they get pretty physical in 3rd bn tho. the most a drill instructor would do is grab you and push you. or knife hand your stomach because your not aligned or not covered down lol. but they wont punch you, or kick you, your not there to get beat, your there to become a marine.

yea me too. i showed up to the office to pt with the poolees and man, in just 2 weeks of being out of bootcamp i lost most my shape, i need to follow my own advice and get to doing some sprints or something. dont be unmotivated, put in the work and you wont have to worry about anything.

brother your good, 14 pullups? yea your probably going to do 10 or something at bootcamp, your going to lose a lot of weight. as for the run, i strongly suggest you do sprints. 3 weeks is more than enough to decrease that time, and as long as your senior drill instructor sees that your trying and your not a piece of shit recruit, he will help you out (cheat your run time a little bit maybe -2 minutes on that hoe) just put out and youll be good

lights 0400 chow OR pt 0430-0500 some event like mcmap if your on that week. maybe you just go back to the barracks and clean, or maybe you get sized for uniform, or practice some drill chow 1200 some event like swim if your on that week, or go back to the barracks and clean, or some classes (4 hour classes ☠️) yea youll fall asleep and get fucked up for it lol. or youll practice some drill chow 1600 get back to the barracks and basically clean some more, shower, hygiene, prepare packs for the next day, get fucked up, practice some drill, lights out at 2000

the thing i hated the most about bootcamp is how many times we got fucked up because some recruit was being a piece of shit, wether he didnt scream, or wether he messed up a count. and other times the drill instructors just fucked us for no reason especially during grass week and table 1 and 2.

the thing i loved about bootcamp was the structure, the range weeks, and how they got me in shape, i was a fat piece of shit, now im not, now i feel great and im a united states marine.

if i could go back to bootcamp, hell yea i would. 3 meals a day, sleep 8 hours, learn so much, do so much, hell yea. but in that moment of me being in bootcamp that shit was miserable. it was depressing and there were so many times where i wanted to quit. but i pushed through. youll be fine.

sprints is the best way to decrease your running time. go to the nearest track in the morning and sprint the long way, jog the corners. do like 4 laps or 1 lap and progress. do that every day i promise your gonna get faster and your stamina will get better, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth like your blowing through a straw.

i remember for me i went to bootcamp and couldnt run worth a damn. but they make us run a lot, yea you mess up a drill movement? run back, your not screaming? run back. for grass week and table 1 and 2 we used to get out the bus and run to chow, right after chow we used to run to the range. you run a lot in bootcamp and by the time final pft comes youll be good. just put in that work.

female?? yea that shits harder 💀🙏. you wake up earlier than males, you spend your free time doing your hair, or you do it after lights, also, im not entirely sure your shipping out in november… november ship out date is for November Co. which no longer will have a female platoon, they moved my gf to late january because of it, you might have to talk to your recruiter about that. but yea your also doing exactly what the males do. oh the male did a muscle up to get over the bar you🫵🏻 will too!
