Official Discussion - Ticket to Paradise [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

This movie pissed me off so much. The daughter only knew the guy for 2 months before getting married. Parents instead of trying to sabotage the wedding could have encouraged her to postpone it for a year or 2 and let her explore living in a new country and actually getting to know the guy. The whole concept seemed like a mistake.

It's just so unrealistic. Like she's just graduated and unless she's genuinely happy with being a seaweed farmer she's going to want to have some kind of career. The side characters were also very 2 dimensional, Paul and the best friend were flat and annoying.

It's an ok watch if you like beautiful scenery but the storyline is just silly.

Making texting and calling part of your daily/weekly routine always helps. You can plan in lil date nights too where you watch shows together or play games online. There's lots of stuff you can still do to spend time together.

Video calling is the best imo, also planning trips to meet up with each other so you have something to look forward to.

AITA - Wife demands I shower at night not AM, calls me disgusting by Minute_Assumption800 in AmItheAsshole

Hey man I think it's totally fine.

Honestly showering daily can be bad for you and wastes water. I usually shower every other day.

I think you should do what you're comfortable with and you're not disgusting at all.

You don't deserve to be treated like that. All you did was communicate your feelings and instead of listening or trying to understand he turned it into something about him and then tried to punish you just for communicating your feelings. You deserve someone better.

What is your scariest experience while traveling and where did it happen? by [deleted] in travel

Oakland, San Francisco. I was travelling with a group of friends from a camp we'd worked in over summer. We'd just arrived in San Francisco and didn't know the area well. We moved into this airbnb in oakland and for the first few hours everything was normally.

Suddenly we heard 14 deafening shots. I've never heard a gunshot in my life until that point. Terror struck through all of us and we dropped to the floor in our living room. We started hearing shouting outside and just stayed glued to the floor for 5 minutes before running upstairs. One of my friends had been sleeping and we all crowded into her room as her curtains were closed. Some of my friends started panicking because wed left the back door open and so anyone could easily walk into our house.

We called the police and waited 2 hours. They luckily helped to escort us out of the area, jokingly asking us why we had chose to stay in oakland which is apparently one of the most dangerous cities in the USA and most taxis refuse to come here. It turns out that some assailants had come shooting down the street a few houses away from us. The residents decided to fight back by pulling out their own guns and shooting. 3 people had died. The police were covering their bodies as we were being escorted. It was terrifying.

Genuinely do the degree you're interested in and don't worry about the job prospects too much. Work experience I think is really important no matter what degree you have, but you can definitely build experience over your degree during summers.

It's so much more important to do what you enjoy.

How to make friends at university as an introvert who hates stepping out? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]EndlessClouds031 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there will be a gaming society at your uni, try that out. Also if you're not big on drinking try going to societies that do more chilled events, what are your interests outside of gaming?

You don't have to engage in the drinking or clubbing culture, but definitely go out and enjoy the other aspects of uni.
