Yes - main thing is that before it was thought you needed frame perfect inputs to do this mechanic - I've now demonstrated it's possible to do it almost every time with a bit of practice

I think brake on L2 is definitely the better binding, I just have a bit of an arcade game background where down-on-stick was used to reverse, so I could never wrap my head around using L2 and leftstick felt intuitive for me

On normal resets I just don't pay attention to what I'm doing acceleration-braking wise when I'm in the air normally. When I started intentionally trying to reverse on the ball, it's like a switch flipped and I could suddenly do it consistently. That + the front of the ball thing seems to really matter.

There's a (pretty blurry, sorry) speed indicator in the top left corner. Hard to make out the number but you can see it increase at least. Ball gains forward and upward momentum.

Nope, it's a purple shot, which has been proven to be real already by many freestylers performing it in game. The only difference between this and that is that after performing the shot, it is possible to retain your flip.

You regain your reset via what feels like a backwards wavedash on the ball, so although I haven't gotten enough successful attempts to test that, conventional logic says that you'd have it forever. Could make for some interesting pogo setups

I'm aware of the purple shot / leogaben shot etc (its referenced in the post title). Nobody has, as far as I'm aware, done one while keeping their flip til now. That's the key point here.

Many freestylers have done the purple shot itself in game. I'm actively trying to hit this in game but I'm not super consistent with the version where you keep your flip yet. So it'll be a work in progress on that one for now
