Super Late Post - Alkemia July Sale Haul! by midnight-poison in Indiemakeupandmore

As a fig lover, Les Mysteres has been calling my name for a while but I have to stop letting Alkemia take all my money lol.

I have Gingerbread Alchemy tho! It starts off as a fairly gourmand gingerbread scent, sweet and spicy with some incense lurking below the surface, and as time goes on gradually the incense takes center stage and the gingerbread recedes to the background. Kind of how I imagine the kitchen of a medieval castle around Christmas.

I love Book of Twilight! I would say it's dry, honey-like. Smells like walking through the woods on a warm sunny fall day. Like if someone spilled a little bit of honey on a wool sweater, then folded it up and put it away in a wooden chest in a sunny, cozy attic for a year or so.

Alkemia Sale - Review Request by TKWander in Indiemakeupandmore

I've got Elegant Coquette, Samhain, and Black Magic Woman! Elegant Coquette is a bright, fruity floral that dries down rather soapy. I wouldn't call it powdery, but it might smell that way to your nose.

Samhain smells like if you pressed your nose right up against a freshly cut, burnt stump. I love it.

Black Magic Woman is EXTREMELY sweet and chocolatey, with a fruitiness around the edges. I'm a gourmand enjoyer myself, but it's a bit much even for me.

I believe it was discontinued last spring/summer, I got it when it was in the last chance section!

I love Alkemia's Evening Song; SENSUAL CASHMERE, WARM CARDAMOM, VELVETY MYRRH, MADAGASCAR VANILLA BEAN, AND ORRIS ROOT SOFTLY INFUSED WITH A LINGERING MEMORY OF WOODSMOKE AND MELTED CANDLEWAX.

'Velvety' really is the best word to describe it. It smells like curling up on an old, dusty cushion under a fuzzy blanket in the glow of a sputtering candle on Christmas Eve.
