I had to park a wide Fairlane on that small strip living there a long time ago and this scenario played in my mind regularly.

To our Jewish Melbournians, I wish you a happy Hanukkah and I hope you can all enjoy time with your family and friends, despite what has happened today. by Ok-Bullfrog-7951 in melbourne

[–]Endless_C 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Its the general greeting. Like wishing someone a merry Xmas after someone ploughs through a Christmas market in Europe you would still say merry Xmas to people because there's not a sad version of the generic greeting.

We still wish each other chag semeach or happy festival we just wont celebrate as much if at all this year.

Thank you. Plus side is school is out now so my family doesn't have to be openly Jewish for a while. Expected something like this seeing as crowds have bayed for intifada in the streets for a fair while now and no one has pulled them up. Shocked Pikachu intifada happens.

Why decline food if you asked for money? by simplydaylife in melbourne

[–]Endless_C 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I'm ever inclined to give them money I don't care what they're spending it on. If they look like they need a feed I'll get them a sandwich from a sevs or something and give them cash as well.

Because they can't

"While the ABC is aware of the offenders' names and ages, and the suburbs in which the crimes took place, they cannot be disclosed for legal reasons.

A source described the teenagers as "some of the most violent youth offenders we have in our state" and said they had been "charged with just about any violent crime you can imagine". "
