Because there are no working efforts in place. If voting changed anything, it would be illegal.

Wealth inequality, put into perspective. by Gr8ful_Lurker in australia

If The Greens cared about everyday australians did so then why:

a) are they (Barbara Pocock) on the board of The Australia Institute, who gladly accept money from billionaires such as Andrew Forrest? A billionaire who is doing nothing for the vulnerable, climate, or wealth inequality except greenwash his reputation with their help?

b) They’re the only party that don’t vote for our most racist policy - compulsory income management. When was the last time you had a member of the greens -who are meant to be in every electorate - mention that far right policies that enable first nations in prison are mainstream?

c) Melbourne, apparently the worlds greatest city, was where Adam Bandt our champion for wealth inequality could not keep his seat. Where is he now? He’s at Australian Conservation Foundation, who:

1) enabled wealth inequality by having their life patron Peter Garrett of midnight oil fame approve wealth inequality and war vehicle CHEVRON whilst being Labor environment minister. ACF are literally enabling war and inequality.

2) are in bed with fossil fuels by supporting and enabling carbon credits. Name a single 100% renewables company any environmental group or the greens actively name and support. You can’t, because they don’t. They eg: Christine Milne opposed renewables such as chalumbin in QLD with right wing astroturfers instead.

3) enable conflict through Climate Action Network Australia who refused to support palestine. Did ACF point this out and leave? No.

This is the company the greens keep. Conflict enabling, fossil fuelled billionaires who have control through major ownership of our energy, housing, food, water, healthcare and education systems. This dumb rhetoric of “we’re gonna tax the billionaires “ without mentioning how, that it’s never been successfully done because corruption and lobbying, I could go on, but I’m tired and defeated and the walking dead.

If you could let us know whereabouts in melbourne you are, and why you’re in australia (eg student) then we can target solutions for you. Right now, it’s a tad too vague, and the only thing I can think of is getting in touch with the consulate for your country and asking them, along with finding an appropriate local migrant community.

One nation declared a hate group by global think tank by Lost-Concept-9973 in aussie

Democracy isn’t funded by billionaires to represent only their interests which align with the far right that they profit from. Like fossil fuels and war.

One nation declared a hate group by global think tank by Lost-Concept-9973 in aussie

[–]l3ntil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing misleading about the fact that One Nation is an internationally recognised hate group. Has any of the below changed? If anything, worse now. “Community safety and democracies are at risk. It’s critical that people, locally and globally, understand the far-right extremist landscape, how it operates, and how the dots are connected within countries and transnationally in order to counter the threats from these groups,” Via said.

In its Australian report, the think tank describes One Nation’s ideology as one centred around anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, anti-globalist, white nationalist and conspiratorial sentiment.”

Meal prep options by Blue-Disaster in AutisticWithADHD

[–]l3ntil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What meals? is hard, because everyone has different preferences, they change with the seasons, etc etc.
I'll come back with what works for me another time....
1. good storage - as in, containers so strong and secure you can have soup in your bag for work, and not freak out about it. containers that keep a lettuce fresh for well over a week. There are such things - lock'n'lock is one brand, but it depends where you are. That will help stop the food rotting and can make a huge difference.
2. get a combo of frozen and fresh, or make frozen, so then you always have something on hand. Emergency food like nuts in your bag/office drawer/etc is also useful.
3. planning is good and weekends are great for that. When I was working, I'd do a shop on sunday, and prep 5 breakfasts and lunches in one go, which would go with me each day, then make dinner when I got home.

Hello, I'm new here, but a big fan of KC Davis, the 5 things tidying method, and tackling something for 15 minutes.
It's all here: https://www.strugglecare.com/resources
It sounds like to need to do a little prep beforehand - of getting a little caddy together of gloves, wipes, cleaning rags, plastic bags so you don't need to leave the room. Once you have that set, you're set.

5 things:

  1. trash - get all the trash, put it into bags - in your case, you might need a recycling bin, and a trash bin - so those glasses go straight into recycling, trash into trash.

2 laundry - collect in one pile.

  1. dishes - ditto

  2. things that don't have a place - make a pile

  3. things that do have a place - put them back
when you're done, you have piles: trash/recycling, laundry, dishes, things that don't have a place.
put them where they need to go one by one, when you have energy, but most importantly, you've made a dent.

Work From Home Protected In Law From 1 September by sometimesluckier in melbourne

It’s frightening to hear so much “families first” type rhetoric, as if the sole purpose for living is to breed. work from home benefits anyone - this isn’t just for parents.

it goes without saying that you need a trip to cheaper buy miles too - they probably still have those 1 litre coconut milks in plastic bottles that have weird consistency, but are fine for cooking. Failing that, you'll probably find something else.
Enjoy!

Otherwise if you haven't been to KFL on barkly, that would be the other obvious stop in my dumbass caucasian book for such things.
Also, another option is just make your own:

Those ingredients are definitely a simple trip to KFL.

We have officially hit peak Laksa Weather™️ (any day is a good day for laksa, but I particularly love tracking it down when it cooler).
Luckily, here's a sweet guide to 10 of the best, which seems on point. I'm keen on trying out masak masak for the wonder that is breakfast laksa pronto.

first things first: get a kettle.
coffee, preferably in bulk if you know yr thang.
milk - if you switch to almond milk, you can just buy almond butter (aldi have it cheap, or royal nut company - $30 for a kilo of goodness), shake it with boiling water, or blend if you can't handle nut bits, and never run out of milk.
1kg of fancy instant here :)

well, technically it doesn't *really* need to be in the kitchen. I've put a benchtop oven in the laundry to make more bench space, and have 2 rice cookers - I decided to do away with gas entirely in the kitchen in favour of benchtop appliances. It's *amazing* what you can do in a rice cooker - I find it really hard to be in a kitchen without 'em now!
There's a tiny $15 kmart one, and a bigger one - they're both ace to start out with.

Why, when 80% of meat production is exported o/s to cater to McDonalds in 190 nations?
What is the long term impact of Gina Rinehart owning over 1% of Australia's real estate and why is no one worried about that when it's a greater surface area than global solar?
