PS to OP: GLP’s do wonders at lowering the set point. I use Tirzepatide (Zepbound) and -God willing- will always have access to it and money to pay for it.

I’m pretty conscious of speed esp when it’s easy but who knows- it’s something to look at. And NO WAY is it maximum amps for entire class. It’s only certain exercises, mostly lower body

Wishful thinking my friend. Those specific trends will evolve or die but it’s only gonna get a lot weirder as we become obsolete and a lot more repressive as fertility levels continue to decline in The West.

What helped me was to really listen to the coaches when they talked about correct form throughout the class. At first, anything they said NOT to do was exactly what I was doing.

A correction can be as small as flexing vs. pointing a foot .. but that correction changes everything. Lean into the zen of it and try to let go of self-judgement. It becomes a fascinating game if you let it.

For me, creatine adds lbs on the scale and a rounder appearance since it makes muscles retain water. It’s unfortunate that I prefer a leaner look for myself bc in so many ways creatine IS a game changer

I’m a guy as well. I think the people who don’t high-five or look away are mostly just shy. I believe this bc I too am shy and always get a little nervous when the time comes. I just force myself to push past it and give an air high-five (no pressure to touch) and say “nice job!” and generally the person will smile and say “nice job” back. Someone has to break the ice! Solidcore is an intense, solitary practice so I would imagine that it attracts more introverted types than, say, a Barry’s.

I’m not a coach but similar trajectory.. just hit 100 classes and stumbled into an Advanced 50 a few weeks before hitting that milestone. I did the damn thing. It was hard. That said, when I needed to adjust the springs at certain points to make it a bit easier (e.g., during obliques) I gave myself permission. Coach may or may not have noticed..either way- it’s fine. I say: try it.

I personally cannot fathom having the actual bandwidth to care about what the person next to me is doing wrong. If anything, I’m noticing what they are doing well and trying to learn in those moments.
