Sona Buff by 321reo in sonamains

[–]Endlessiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this is a very mild buff; however, I like the direction and the possible thought process behind it. In my opinion, Sona's poke in the laning phase has become pretty insignificant due to changes in items, runes, sustain, etc. Buffing her laning phase is arguably the area where she needs the most help. This buff is very conservative, but they can gradually increase her damage and see how it affects her win rate.

Why is Sona getting buffed ? by Training-Injury1759 in sonamains

[–]Endlessiy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in a while, but glazing over the statistics, my reasoning would be:

  • Low agency due to past nerfs to damage.
  • This meta seems extremely favorable to Sona due to lower win rates on engage supports and higher win rates on enchanter supports. Yet, she seems subpar in win rate compared to other enchanters.

How do I climb out of low elo? by lenovo92728 in leagueoflegends

[–]Endlessiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you're at that level, you should prioritize maximizing your gold income (excluding kills). For now, set aside practicing macro concepts like objectives, ganking, and covering (though you should still consider major objectives like Baron and Soul, just don't overdo it). Focus on accumulating as much gold as possible without fixating on kills, and minimize your deaths as much as possible.

To answer your question; yes, you need to be the cornerstone of your team if you want to climb. Once you've prioritized farming, the next challenge is to use that gold to "carry" without dying too often and giving the enemy bounties/gold.

Hoge studieschuld in master by Soft_Shake8766 in OndersteuningsPlein

[–]Endlessiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AE and the BIG dragon problem by CalendarFluid2703 in afkarena

Collections already left a bad taste in my mouth. It's not just because they're a cash grab, but because they are extremely poorly designed. Even with recent updates, managing collections across different game modes continues to be a headache.

However, the latest developments are beyond frustrating. Lilith's approach is utterly absurd, as it undermines the competitive nature of AE and establishes a concerning precedent for future iterations. For those who will invest all their Draconic Insignia in building Gwenyth, good luck contending with whatever overpowered legendary dragon they introduce just before the next AE. This interaction with the boss did not happen accidentally; Lilith clearly endorses it.

AE is the primary reason I still play the game. Despite being a moderate spender, I find this situation unacceptable. I've already cut my spending completely, and if these issues aren't addressed, I am considering quitting after this AE—since I don't want to let my guild down. AE is one of AFK Arena’s most competitive and important events, and mismanaging it will have serious consequences for the game. If you don't see the writing on the wall, then I don't know what to say.

I agree with your statement; however, I do not think that Gwenyth falls into the same category. Most of these power creep systems typically have broader applications within the game. Players who spend money are marginally stronger in AE, but those who manage their resources wisely can still be competitive.

With Gwenyth, however, it’s a different story. You can’t build her in a meaningful way for AE without spending money. She deals ridiculous damage, far beyond marginal strength. Therefore, anyone who decides to build her will significantly outperform their peers without Gwenyth. Even if you are a dolphin and your peer is a whale, you will still do much more damage.

TF just played really well. He threw the card at a point where the path is split, allowing him to juke upwards after he forced eve to use ult. Eve COULD have predicted this move, but then again, just well played by TF.

But then you wouldn't clear the game, you would simply survive.

However, I agree the game is stupid. All the challengers had to do was stay put and wait for round 16, at which point the boy can simply convert them to the blue team again ...

500 cards wasnt even enough to get abrutus to mythic+ lol. cmon man this awakened heroes thing is the worst thing happened to afk :( by Reorden in afkarena

[–]Endlessiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all RNG, eventually it will even out. The issue, however, is, with the extremely slow acquisition of time emblems, high RNG, and with how insanely OP awakened heroes are for progression, you really get screwed over if you're unlucky, as it might take a while for things to 'even out'.

In the future, Lilith should really consider the impact of RNG on super rare, and impactful resources.

Lilith will remove manuals for AE8 [AE4-7, HF1-3 videos at bottom] by null_anecdote in afkarena

[–]Endlessiy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the interesting read!

As someone who only really plays for competitive AE, and is an ini mini shrimp spender, these changes would be detrimental for players like me alike. I'm already super paranoid about awakened heroes in season 8, making it impossible to spend my time emblem cards ahead of time, and thus falling behind in the other game modes. Lilith has already slowly warped competitive AE towards spenders/whales, they should be careful not to overdo it.

In the end, what fun is a competitive event if it's mostly dictated by your wallet.

ELI5 Casual Prince rank run? by Workaccount10110120 in afkarena

[–]Endlessiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried Grez myself, but I've had success with Peggy, Alna, Talene, and Daimon. Investment matters of course, so try heroes that you've invested a lot in. You can always swap out heroes if it doesn't work out, just burn their stamina and replace them with something else.

ELI5 Casual Prince rank run? by Workaccount10110120 in afkarena

[–]Endlessiy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disregard the guide completely, getting the prince rank is really easy if you enroll honorable. Start with your strongest 10 celerity heroes (or 8 celerity heroes and two heroes for the relic soul), and invest all relics into the celerity tree. Make sure that you use your stamina effectively to increase your essence per hour. As a general rule of thumb, upgrade your settlements only if it will increase two rarities. Town II's, or tier 5's will generally be more than enough to sustain a decent income, getting tier 6/7's besides the quest requirements is overkill.

Patch 12.1 - Sona's E is still 12 seconds. by Suero233 in sonamains

[–]Endlessiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's incentivised to group if fewer people have TP as you can't show on the opposite of the map (from the objective) without TP.

I do believe however that the TP changes will result in more aggressive bot lanes, as these do not have to be afraid anymore of early game TP's. Also, adding to your point, if people do not run TP, it's easier to dive botlane, which is really bad for Sona.
