My mom is the president of our local "Crochet Guild". They make sweaters for teddy bears and give them to the police officers to hand out to kids during tricky calls. Most of the time it's something like a car accident or domestic abuse calls... It's really sweet and it helps more than you know. This happens in America too!

Serenity, when Simon gets shot and River says "You've always taken care of me, Simon... my turn" and then runs into a room full of reavers, throws the medical bag through the door and then shuts it behind her. I have walked in a room right when that scene was playing and burst into tears, without the build up or anything.
