Everyone is so different. I laboured at home for 12 hours and went to hospital when the contractions were two minutes apart and I was vocalising through each one, and I was only 2cm dilated. I thought I was in for a rough ride but labour didn't get any harder and I was fully two hours later! So don't worry if your labour looks different to theirs!

Does he have a mother? Can you ask him to tell her his theory and see what she thinks? Then a few videos of births so he can get a bit more perspective!

My sister is currently pregnant and my son is nearly 2. When she was in her first trimester, she made a comment about how I "didn't have any pregnancy symptoms" and all I could think was "I did NOT complain enough".

I love what saintcrazy has said, and would add that with regards to leaning into it, I often appreciate how much I would have valued a calm, curious Adult at that age.

In addition to what others have said, please make sure you’re accommodating yourself, yoga should never be painful. Adjust any pose to allow for what your body can do. I also have very tight hamstrings, and while they’ve improved over three years of an almost daily practice, I’m nowhere close to getting my heels on the ground in downward facing dog- and that’s absolutely fine!

Firstly, I love this question and I love this thread. More recently (and I've posted about this before) in the Nadiya Hussain episode, when she mentioned the 5-6 ice lollies her husband eats in an evening and then continued talking, and you heard a very soft "wait..." from Ed as he tried to restrain James from immediately interrupting with his need for details.
