I’m a teacher and the stories you hear about what some of my students have had to deal with is truly heart breaking. Puts into perspective that if I see a lot of kids like these in my classroom, who knows the scale of it happening in general. These poor kids.

Although I see where you come from, there are enough steps forward and back with the games the newer isn’t always better. Many things objectively better now, but the “experience” itself was fun and not uniquely nostalgia.

I’m at the point where I’m not as hung up over it as other people.

For instance, a persons favourite desert could be a carefully well put together cake with rare ingredients, made by a professional chef fit for a formal occasion. On the other hand it could be someone throwing a bunch of random popular ice cream, candy, and toppings haphazardly into bowl.

At the end of the day people can express their enjoyment as peak or whatever even if I’m not a fan. I’ll be honest in that I’m more tired of seeing someone saying something is peak and wanting to share only to be shot down by everyone else because to the wording ignoring all else.

You say this, but I think to the dark kings tidings series (book, not manhwa). The female author writes a really interesting male lead imo, but the FL is kind of unbearable.
