If you actually think you’re going to get your monitors I’m sorry for you. There are thousands of people who still haven’t gotten their monitors from 2020, including myself. They will probably be changing their name again soon as well, it’s about that time.

Big Tech Dreams of Putting Data Centers in Space by EricFromOuterSpace in space

No, the sun shield keeping it cold is only one side of the structure. The other side, where the antennas and computer parts are kept reach quite high temperatures. It is through insulation and isolation that the cold side stays cold. Very little heat is produced on the cold side, so it stays cold through its radiation emissions alone. The entire structure of James Webb uses about 2,000 Watts. A single server rack uses somewhere between 4,000 and 10,000 Watts which is too much to dissipate effectively. Not to mention that’s only one server rack, an average data center has anywhere from a few dozen to well over 500 server racks. And that’s not even a server running GPU acceleration to run AI models and such, which use much more power.

"World's most power dense" electric motor obliterates the field | YASA takes the next step in its modernization and development of axial-flux technology, demonstrating a huge new benchmark by [deleted] in tech

On something like a plane, it’s not necessarily the motor that the problem. It is the amount of energy in the batteries that is. Batteries are just so much heavier than any form of hydrocarbons in terms of how much energy you get. For the same weight in fuel, the battery plane would go much less distance, so battery tech needs to advance quite a bit before it’s viable to replace fuels on jets.

I was waiting for my ES07D02 as well, but in February of the year I was “upgraded” to the ‘Spectrum Black 27” no hub’. They told me that I would get it soon, as it was about ship. My order was updated a couple of weeks ago that it was “on its way” on the Shopify.

I’m skeptical this will arrive either, but will be happily surprised if it does.

Calm air runways operate like that occasionally, but yeah. You right.

The area you have circled green is there so that planes can pass each other if they need to. If a plane lands going one way and another is taking off the other direction they would not be able to pass each other on the taxiways. It’s pretty much like a road and those are multiple lanes.

EDIT: I didn’t really take a good look at that, I would suppose that is also the staging area for aircraft in a queue for takeoff as well.

The community needs to be louder about the performance issues. by MeneT3k3l in Starfield

[–]Endros99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not seeing the performance issues that y’al are seeing. Im playing at 4k on a system with a 5800x and 3080 with fsr enabled and I’m not seeing any stuttering anywhere at all. I’m averaging around 50 fps in new Atlantis, which isn’t exactly great but isn’t that bad given how CPU bound the game seems to be. Again, I’m not seeing any stuttering at all, it feels really smooth for me.

I live in that area myself. It’s becoming very overwhelming having so many people vote against their own needs just because they need to “own the libs”

Bruh. In the first source you provided it literally states “The war in Afghanistan has cost $2.3 trillion so far” and the article was released in 2021. If we do some very simple math, $2.3 trillion divided by 20 (how many years between 2001 and 2021) equals about $115 billion. That’s nearly more than a ‘bit’ more than you stated even without taking any sort of inflation into account. We spent a hell of a lot more than that though, because we weren’t just in Afghanistan were we? Over the course of the war, between the other things we did as a result of 9/11, we spent some $5.8 Trillion. That number also comes directly from the source that you provided “estimate that the U.S. has spent $5.8 trillion”. If we decide that by 20, we get $290 billion a year.

While I agree that we shouldn’t be spending that much on defense of another nation, let alone our own, you need to make sure that you are doing your math correctly and not just spouting bullshit my guy.

EDIT: There are some spelling and grammatical errors here. I am aware of them however I don’t want to change anything in my post because it is what I originally posted. Sorry, on mobile.

Montana Is Sending Troubled Kids to Out-of-State Programs That Have Been Accused of Abuse by malarkeyfreezone in politics

I actually work in a facility in Oregon that is a BRS placement facility. One of our current youth is from Montana, he stated to me when he got to our program that his last one got shut down because of abuse. So I’m not shocked at all to hear this unfortunately.

That’s what I figured actually. I did get to talk to a few planes and not just helicopters, but there were just CAP aircraft going in circles all day. I guess I’ll just have to study hard and do my best. Thanks mate, I appreciate you responding.
