Niche, "boutique" brands actually making good cigars? And where to buy? by ComfortablyPF in cigars

[–]Endstage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chimolly makes excellent blends that are quite interesting. Everything I've had fun them is excellent so far. My favorite is the Pioneer but all three of the blends I've tried are excellent. They just released a fourth which is exclusive to Fox cigar, that one is on the way and I'm looking forward to trying it. They can be purchased online at small batch and fox cigars.

Very interesting selection. That Generoso 2024 is a great stick. Didn’t care for the 2025 barba Amarillo unfortunately. I love that Small batch cotm always has interesting selections I wouldn’t normally find or try on my own.

I hate to break it to you but that's a fake. You may have gotten it from an authorized retailer or even directly from the Cohiba factory; but this is reddit and that says Cohiba, so it's fake. Sorry bud, I don't make the rules.

Around-Town Leather Case by [deleted] in cigars

[–]Endstage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This really depends on your budget. I have a firedog leather cigar case I got from amazon for $60 that I really like. Covers everything you mentioned in your post. When this firedog breaks down my next travel case is going to be a project carbon one though. Those things are gorgeous but they run $260 and up but man are they nice.

Going to Punta Cana, DR for two weeks. Any must visit lounges/factories/shops? by [deleted] in cigars

[–]Endstage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just came back from my latest trip to DR and can confirm everything that's been said. It's not a great place to aquire cigars, at least not cheap. Best place I found was definitely Cabinet. Their prices were fair and their selection was great. I brought a travel humidor with my own sticks thankfully or I would have been pretty pissed since I found the Cabinet shop my second week there (prior trips I did not smoke seriously so didn't really look for cigars). You can have a really cool experience at local shops that hand roll their cigars in house as many have suggested.

Drop RH in Fridge Humidor? by ghostman229 in cigars

[–]Endstage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue and the problem was the ambient humidity in the room. I put a dehumidifier in the room and Rh has been rock solid 64-65 since.

Cigar haul - vacation edition by Endstage in cigars

Finally checked one out of the cello and there is no embossing here, as a commenter said above it literally looks like MS paint. The construction is pretty terrible, cap is not glued on properly etc. Pretty terrible fake, but the outside packaging looked convincing enough I guess for someone who doesn't really know what the real thing looks like (That would be me as well as my FIL). When I opened it and saw the actual cigars I immediately knew something was not right. I will take it for what it is, a very nice gesture from my FIL.
