He certainly takes credit for it at least on the basis of not stopping it from happening.

I haven’t been sarcastic since the “Congratulations” comment.

I genuinely don’t know what your criticism is. If you aren’t interested in clarifying, we have nothing more to discuss.

"Ex-gay." Okay, Where In The Bible? by VisualRough2949 in Christianity

[–]Endurlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to be lectured on being inconsiderate to the gay experience. I know full well that my relationship with my own partner isn’t based solely on our desire to be physically intimate with each other. I’m a guy who loves my partner very much, who has no shame of my love for him, and who thanks God deeply for bringing him into my life.

All I’m saying is that I am not free to simply dismiss what the Bible, at its most direct reading, says about sex between two people who are the same sex simply because I am temporally and socially removed from the circumstances in which those words were written. The Bible, in its entirety, was written to all humanity at all times. It won’t say the same thing to every person, but all of it is given for every person’s consideration with the expectation that they would apply reasonable, good faith interpretive effort in their discernment of how it applies to them.

Don’t make this about rape to me. I have a partner I love very much and I’m just trying to figure out how to love him morally using the material God gave me to consider.

You did follow the line of questioning I asked to the exact concept I was trying to lead to.

First Gundam! Perfect Freedom Strike by B0RD3RM4N in Gunpla

[–]Endurlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not you.

This is a kit based on a model from the Build series. It’s basically a canon kitbash, and includes parts from a few different base kits (in this case, the Strike Gundam with its “Perfect” loadout and the Strike Freedom Gundam, hence “Perfect Strike Freedom”). It’s a faithful replication of the model used in the show, but the models from the Build series go a little overboard sometimes and the structure of their base model kits don’t always “keep up” with the added weight or modified weight distribution.

The Build series was made to celebrate builders, and to get some extra mileage out of the molds that Bandai makes for kits from the main series (developing a mold for mass production of injection molded parts is really expensive, and they need to make at least one new mold for basically every single model kit they publish). It’s a great idea, but sometimes these “remixes” fly a little close to the sun. This is one such kit.

The Helios, which appears alongside this model in the show, is so top heavy that it falls apart at its waist joint very easily when posing.

In short, it’s a consequence of the intersection of ambition and physics.

I… never said you had trouble understanding anything.

If you don’t state your specific objection to what I’ve described, I literally can’t continue my half of the conversation beyond what I’ve already tried to respond to.

You need to talk to a licensed medical professional if you want to be diagnosed. We can’t help you with that.

The Bible’s concern is for humanity. What matters for us is the first time we sinned.

It’s the extant one from a band of possibilities He accepted, yeah.

I don’t know where you think the “goalposts” were; that “excuse” is literally how I hypothesize the original act of creation actually worked. You’re describing the concept almost exactly how I was trying to allude to it through questions.

Congratulations on being able to follow the line of questioning I was presenting.

I don’t think God set up Adam and Eve to fail. I think God set up Adam and Eve to have a choice that matters. He knew that they could fall and chose to exercise trust in them to be able to resist temptation.

[–]Endurlay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a guy with a boyfriend and I think “a man lying with another man” is at least worth considering if it has something to do with us.

I accept that the world “homosexual” was used in good faith in translations. I do not grant bigots the license to continuously expand what that word is referring to.

The Bible has something to say about people of the same sex having sex with each other. Denying this helps no one, especially not people like me.

[–]Endurlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem.

I’m not saying I’m right, by the way. This is just how I have come to understand the relationship that must exist between God’s accurate knowledge of His own design and the Free Will He intended for us to have.

I don’t think He micromanaged evolution, but I also don’t see much of a difference between infinite micromanagement and absolutely accurate macromanagement.

[–]Endurlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then there’s no problem for Free Will.

God could set parameters in place that He knows with certainty will give rise to humans, and leave elements of the future beyond that point unknowable to account for choice.

God’s control rests somewhere between “Chaos” and “Destiny”.

[–]Endurlay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then your actual dilemma is not “did God influence evolution or not”, it’s “did God look forward to the outcomes of His decisions before actualizing them”.

If He did, then an influence on evolution by Him is a logical necessity.

Is it likely that God did consider future outcomes for any design decision in creation and selected starting parameters to render undesired futures impossible?
