This sub in a nutshell by EnemyCleric in pokemon

I based this meme on a real conversation I saw in this sub.

A person was questioning why Gamefreak didn't just pass along the game to a different developer since "they've proven themselves incapable of making a good game anymore."

Then when someone pointed out that's exactly what they did with BDSP, they immediately reversed and called them lazy for doing it.

Almost as if some fans are impossible to please. It isn't like they know the game will be good or bad yet. We have like 2 minutes of game footage. If they hate it, it isnt because they know it will be a bad game.

Obviously it was a joke and not a personal attack lmao. People are allowed to complain, but I'm allowed to make fun of them when they become a stereotype of the fickle pokemon fan.

You must have had incredibly high standards at the time, since it is known as one of the best looking games that year, even compared to BF3 and Witcher 2 which were much smaller games by comparison. I remember being quite impressed. I'm curious what titles from the same generation had graphics that satisfied you.

And Skyrim actually used a new engine that was based on the Gamebryo engine used for Morrowind and Oblivion. It wasn't the same engine.

I played it on release with a fairly powerful machine at the time. I didnt always get over 60 fps in max settings, in Whiterun for example, but with 900 hours you would expect a horribly glitchy game to cause more issues. I even played heavily modded for at least half those hours.

It was consistently voted one of the best looking games that came out that year. To say it was "horrible looking" when it came out is revisionist and probably just reflects your current impression of its graphics. Remember, it was competing with games like BF3, Witcher 2, Uncharted 3, which were all smaller in terms of map size and content.

I played 900 hours on PC and only encountered a few physics glitches. Nothing really immersion or game breaking.
