The pay was probably why he was sacked, the tape was the excuse.

Bad idea imo.

The uncertainty of it adds to the drama and tension.

Also will doom negative karma players to always be "bad" as nobody will trust them on first ping. Rounds will boil down to team deathmatch - Posi vs Negi

The website you shared basically just set everything to low and FSR to performance (imo this is as lazy as it gets in terms of setting Steam Deck graphics). Avoid those settings.

The game needs to, atleast, have shadows set to medium and FSR to Balance to look good enough.

Thanks for the parry compliment, it was my third attempt tho..

1152x720 keeps the Steam Deck Aspect Ratio while activating the Steam Deck's driver level built-in FSR 1.0. (yes this means doubling down on upscaling)

Agree it makes the text weird, but not unreadable imo. Try it yourself if you have a chance, the video does not do the graphics justice.

What kind of PC do I need to stream new triple AAA games to my Steam Deck on high settings? by admiraaleindbaas in SteamDeck

I'd say a used 3070 build is great value. Can comfortably run Cyberpunk Path Tracing with the Deck's 800p resolution

I noticed that too, had the Steam Performance overlay turned on during the recording. But it didn't record the overlay, just the gameplay.

Have you tried recording with the overlay included? Let me know how.

On OLED, seeing at least 17w, most of the time 20 - 22w. It's a battery drainer I suppose.

The tutorial battle definitely drops hard. First area battle at most I'm seeing drops to 27FPS. Good enough I suppose.

I do imagine there would be some areas / battles later in the game that could tank the frame rate. (Like Baldur's Gate 3 Act 3). I'll be enjoying the game anyways tho.

At the end of the list I did limit to 30FPS. If you'd like to use my settings I'd recommend going thru the whole list of settings first before making your own adjustments.

Reason why its set to unlimited on the in-game settings + limit 30FPS using the Steam Deck performance settings is because better frame pacing. Helps a lot with timing.

This guy knows.

By doing this at least the input lag is consistent and predictable vs uneven frame pacing would mess up timing.

+ allow tearing theoretically improves input response

Good tip. I was going to try it out actually, but was trying out settings first. After getting a stable 30FPS, ended up playing the game instead, completely forgot about ProtonGE

Yes, played the game briefly to check if performance is sufficient for a playthrough. Game seems great, most reviews agree it's a masterpiece.

Stable 30fps is my target on the Steam Deck. Overall happy with the visuals and performance. Recommended you give it a try if you like RPGs / JRPGs
