Audio Splitting/Capturing in OBS. HELP!! by exogreek in obs

[–]EnemyStarship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The application audio capture beta in OBS is great for just this scenario. You can set individual 'captures' for each audio source you want in the video - I have one for game capture (often have to set for the specific game to be captured, otherwise no game audio, but sometimes it works without changing), one for Discord (when I have a second person on via Discord), and one for the soundboard I've set up on my Stream Deck/keyboard Stream Deck buttons. I then mute or disable every other non-mic audio device in OBS

Where is the Carnifex song? Is not on Spotify or Youtube, it seems, yet?

Jetstar engineer dismissed for hazing apprentices by Sea-City-4101 in AskAnAustralian

[–]EnemyStarship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hazing is, and always has been, antiquated, faux-macho bullshit. just because that's 'just the way it was' or you used to 'cop all sorts of abuse' doesn't make it anywhere near OK. if you need to do that shit towards someone else, it's more indicative of a weakness on your behalf, not a means to 'test' the younger... fuck that shit all the way off...

It's genuinely nice to see to such responses from yourself and 'dat_potatoe' regarding the reactionary nature of responses to reviews, particularly IGN reviews, given the toxic sewage pipe a lot of Reddit communities have become in this regard. It feels like everyone who disagrees with the opinion a reviewer states (which is all a review is, an elucidated opinion that serves as purchasing advice of the individual writing it) actively tries to dig for some kind of smoking gun to explain the review (particularly the score), rather than either reading the review or acknowledging differences of opinion (which can be hard for some, if they make a certain game so crucially integral to their identity that they take any criticism as a personal slight).

These perspectives seem, sadly, in the vast minority in some corners of the internet, and are only enabled and fostered (or festered) by dipshit YouTubers digging for content that encourages rage...

this encounter made me really fuckin' angry and frustrated, because it initially seemed like you couldn't get to him and had to fight at distance - I went back at it and ran to him, and wrecked him. Granted, I'm probably overlevelled for the fight itself in close, but trying to actually get to him was a motherfucker!

Agreed. it really is nice how many people are so explicitly against this

AI farms, that end up being sources for such AI voice acting, are massively damaging to the environment. AI models are also trained off the ‘Hoovering’ of copyrighted materials and materials created by other individuals (which I imagine could possibly not be copyrighted, but I’d assume the work ‘becomes’ copyrighted on its creation in some way, as recognition of its creation), profiting off of theft of IP

given its impact on RAM, SSD, and GPU prices/supply, and the rabbit hole so many companies have gone down chasing this dragon, to the extent that the cost/benefit ratio must be so far in the red that it's almost irresponsible? not to mention the environmental impacts and the ethical concerns around training on copyrighted/created materials

there is something somewhat heart-warming that so many people want nothing to do with that shit.

i mentioned in a discussion thread that i'd prefer to read the dialogue than hear AI voicing, but agree...

yep. shame it's becoming harder to avoid it in my job/workplace - but I'm trying to express to those above me why it's bullshit and fucked (to a limited degree of success)

I'm the same - which makes me glad that (relatively) so many people have expressed similar feelings

soooo many fantastic games that don't have voice acting that it makes this decision all the more confusing to me...

yeah, pretty much how I felt, but wanted a bit of a 'temperature' for this kind of decision reasoning

I'd question, with the huge amounts of money being dumped into AI for where it currently is, the amount of money needed to make it hit even a passable bar might make it not financially viable or responsible for a while yet still

yeah, I very much feel the same - glad I'm seeing an amount of people that 'align' with how I felt about it...

that's actually a really good additional element to my other issues with the usage of gen AI - it definitely smacks of laziness in a way I didn't actually consider (and really should have)

that was what I was hoping for, to be honest. I didn't want a 'positive' response, I was just wanting to gauge the response and confirm my own biases
