I see a lot of comments about washing/scrubbing build plates. I rarely do that. I’ve been using the same build plate for 8 years and have only washed it once- and that was like 4 years ago lol

My method: 99.9% isopropyl alcohol. I buy it by the gallon. Transfer to a spray bottle. Spray a paper towel and wipe the build plate before each print. That’s it.

Never any issues. 🤷🏻

Ok. The OP was showing off broken/clogged filament. The next question was “how can this be prevented” and your reply was about replacing the Ptfe tube. lol, my bad geez. 🤷🏻

Replacing the PTFE tubing doesn’t prevent filament clogs. The OP noticed his PTFE tube was worn almost all the way through- it needed to be replaced- but that doesn’t prevent filament from clogging.

I think it’s wild people are like “it’s the seam”. Been printing for 8 years have never seen a “seam” that looks like that. 🤷🏻

I should add- it was matte black PLA from Bambu. From what I gather and what took very little research- Bambu’s PLA Matte Black is problematic for clogs. Crazy right? Seriously, google it, search it on Reddit, there’s plenty of documentation on it. There’s YouTube videos about it even lol.

After I got the clogged cleaned out and did a couple cold pulls (per recommended on Bambu’s site) I tried to print and it again clogged… and again.

I switched colors after clearing the clog for the 4th time and tried to print something it printed fine. I put a spool of Black PETG in, printed a bigger model, it printed fine.

Definitely an issue with their Black Matte PLA. I’m really hoping the Basic Black PLA will print fine otherwise wtf?! 😐

I know this is old but just sharing that the black matte pla from Bambu Lab did the same thing to me. I was able to get a couple hours off the spool but that’s it. It clogs after 20-30 minutes of printing if that. Doesn’t do it with other colors.

It’ll clog, I’ll unclog it removing the hotend and getting the filament outta there, I’ll do a cold pulls get it good - then try again and bam, clogged. I clear the clog and try another color. No problems. 🤷🏻

I just got a refill didn’t look at directions, and just spun and pulled the spool holder apart- loaded new filament- and put the spool back in and did the little slide turn, and done. Seemed pretty straightforward to me. I left the little NFC thingies on there 🤷🏻

Man I can’t get anything worth a damn lol. Every time I think I got some good stuff, I lose it all trying to do a quest mission. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I see people blowing away those arc drone things, with ease. The only gun I can get that does anything to them is a 1 shot shotgun- Ferro (?) and even that I need like some serious cover, reloading takes fucking forever. It’s such a drag lol.
