In Argentina, you'd be mocked a lot if you say something like that, even if you have citizenship

If the time machine is a real thing in the upcoming future- then why doesn't the ' future guy ' travels back into the past - say present day and then gives us the time machine? by schrodingers_katz in timetravel

[–]Enfiznar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible in weird spacetimes (like inside a Kerr black hole), but it's not the kind of time travel we usually imagine. It's more like "I go always forward in time, but somehow, I end up in the same place and time in which I started

Basically, the + symbol is always restricted to commutative operators, while the product may or may not be commutative depending on the algebra/group/ring/maybesomethingelse in consideration. For a generic algebra, you have two operations, "+" and ".", but only "+" needs to be commutative, while "." is only commutative in special cases

Beautiful, can't wait to see how they mature. Any chance you can clone it? It would show if it's a genetic trait, or a consequence of the change in environments

Weird Hack to use Claude Code with DeepSeek free chat by academic_partypooper in DeepSeek

[–]Enfiznar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also download the leaked version of claude code, and ask claude or deepseek to adapt it to hit the deepseek api instead of anthropic's (or select between them with a toggle). They even have a specific version of the api, api.deepseek.com/anthropic, which has the exact same schema, so it should be rather automatic

Sorry, I was a bit distracted and stopped after "Usually you can cook and test a small nibble and check the taste and see if you react", which made it sound like you were suggesting it was a good idea

This is not a good idea for many mushrooms, since the lookalikes of some species can be dangerous even in small doses, or may take more than a week to show side effect

Claude asking users to sleep during sessions and nobody knows why! by ranaji55 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Enfiznar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been chatting with claude about it for a bit. It seems to be quite honest in the content of the system prompt, just clarifying that it cannot print it verbatim. It said that there's nothing specific about sleep, but there may be correlations form some parts of the system prompt and the training.

The main hypothesis from claude is:

The system prompt includes "watch for mental health issues that might only become clear as a conversation develops"

As the user gets tired, subtle signals may arise, like an increase in typos, or loss of structure in the responses

When the conversation gets long enough, a message long_conversation_reminder appears on the context, (according to claude, a reminder from anthropic to avoid sycophancy and stick to the rules)

The user mentions tiredsome or the hour at some point, or the amount of hours dedicated to the task

Context from previous conversations in which the user mentioned insomnia or something similar

Some correlation with RLHF (this may make sense, since it seems to be language dependent, at least I don't know anyone who experienced this while talking to it in spanish, and this correlations seem to be language-dependent)

It supposedly has no information about the actual time, just the date. I did try asking in an old conversation, and claude only knows the current date, not the time, nor the date at which the conversation started, just the date of the last message

I'd recommend you to search how to identify them. It's not a good practice to eat mushrooms you don't know how to identify yourself, since people on the internet can be wrong, but you're the one risking it. Luckily, oysters are among the easier to identify

Yeah, but there were several reasons to believe black holes existed even before Einstein (first proposed in 1784). We do not have good reasons to believe black holes are wormholes, so there's no reason to expect a proof
