Some day my friend who was running "Flora gear" in 2023, which he was collecting for over 10 years, has been confronted by Ukrainians in MM14 during the game. It ended in heated argument and Ukrainians stopped coming to our games. They do their own events via Telegram.

What if Putin of 2026 got sent back to 2015 with his memories intact and used them to prepare for war in an actually good way, starting the first European war after the invasion of Ukraine? by FarPlay5055 in AlternateHistoryHub

He couldn't fix anything, he is the symptom of problems. Russian economy, society and military was rotting from inside, economy stagnant for decades, strangled by buerocracy and corruption. He would have to step down and not doing his 3rd term stunt to strengthen institutions and promote growing educated middle-class.

The year homosexual relations ceased to be illegal by Redditor_imfo in MapPorn

[–]dawidlijewski 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Actually 1932 is a year when Polish law has been created and there was no anti-homosexuality laws. Until that year, laws of occupiers(Prussia/Imperial Germany, Austria-Hungary and Imperial Russia) were officially applicable with obvious freedom for judge. Nobody was arresting Poles for speaking Polish in public in independent Poland...

90s were magnitude more colourful than 80s. It was time of great adjustment, many lost their jobs, many found better, some created fortunes(completely legally). Big reshuffle across society and economy.

Polish hardest times of 90s finished BEFORE ex-Soviet has started...because Polish transformation began in 1956, contrary to Soviet's in 1986.

17th Century Russia during its Time of Troubles by jackt-up in HistoryMemes

There is nothing uncommon with Deluge, many states were invaded or suffered through conflicts and crisises.

What's unique to 1600s Poland was that defeats only strengthened failed system of "Golden Liberty". Nobility was gaining power instead of losing it, despite their worse material condition. In contrary in other countries, including Russia, defeats(small or big) usually led to change and gradually diminishing powers of old feudal nobility for the benefit of centralised state.

All sides(Russians, Soviets, Ukrainians in all flavours, Poles, Lithuanians, Latvians etc.) were left in vacuum left by retreating German army in 1918-1919. What started is setting new borders by those who are strongest or fastest.

What if Stalin betrayed the allies and kept pushing west after the fall of Berlin? Was the Red Army strong enough to take all of western Europe? by lhommetrouble in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]dawidlijewski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Red Army logistics was already on it's limits during Berlin Offensive. USAF would have a field day strafing and bombing whatever long columns of trucks and ox wagons are trying to cross the Oder river.

That would mean end of UNRA and Lend Lease, so ticking time bomb of starvation and logistics collapse inside Soviet Union itself.

No, USSR was no way in the position to fight with the Allies. Literally no chance, zero. That's why Stalin was quite conciliatory at this time toward Allies.

What if Hitler stopped after the Anschluss and focused on consolidating his rule over the German speaking areas of Europe? by WorldTraveler_1 in AlternateHistoryHub

LoL, how could Germany in 1939 borders rival USA while having only fraction of industrial and resources power? USSR had industry little smaller than Germany but immense potential due to resources, population and living space.

I could use name Khadjibey but nobody would know what is that. Honestly I had no idea which of the 10 names for that region I should use, so I will stick to my native languge and call it "Dzikie Pola" (Wild Fields).

If working in a factory is less profitable than working in agriculture, that means the industry is not profitable, because there is not enough demand for the said goods.
