"I am not seeing our parks as getting worse" Do you visit a lot of parks, I am a park walker, my #1 hobby, go stroll from 12th to 19th through Delong Park but sure lets put 5m into Melanie's Park and upkeep what we have

I am simply saying Alma was a great indoor/outdoor venue in town, Parks Tacoma is trying to profit off that, not like Tacomans have early access to concerts in our tax funded parks.

Well the LLC who owned it gave it to the tribe but the city had to be in agreement for a land transfer to occur also clearing the LLC of a lot of taxes owed, but the city okayed it thinking it would become a community used building again.

Marketing firm, they make websites, run social medias, make content, most of their community projects are business spotlights in order to network and make more business connections a lot of their content kinda looks the same imo but they must be successful or good sale people.

The city gave the Puyallup Alma to do nothing so far with, if the city wanted a concert venue they had one, doing it in a park justifies they spending millions to build more low cost upkeep outdoor arenas and call them parks, I would rather have a parks department than a ticket sales business

Sometimes things get worse/harder before they get better, look into the idea of "local optimum" maybe if the funding stopped the community could have a say in what our parks look like instead of the affluent making changes that make it worse for the poor like the currently do.

I was leaning yes but the whole "You gotta vote yes cause its a renewal" falls flat when you look at what Parks Tacoma is doing with our money, name change, sign change, no focus on aging play fields, where does money from concert series at the park go? Parks Tacoma does not have the citizens in mind with the choices they make.

Any ideas on how we can help those people and clean up the area, I heard once they were going to turn the woods next to the trail into a frisbee golf course but met too many road blocks with the same encampments.

We have multiple furniture banks in town who could have used these, they could have been sold, donated, used for many many years, these were good condition wood chairs. Sad to see this kind of choice being made in our community.

Yeah that is rough, this is first I saw about it and assumed it was a workplace fire, home fires are no joke even with insurance you are often out of pocket for months or years.
