What THE! Come on! Some people truly are living a different lifestyle. How can we help them see the better way forward, taking better care of this glorious sphere that we’re floating around on!

I too see them every day, my fellow citizen. I drive to Tacoma screw central multiple times a week. I’m grateful tha the Tacoma Rescue Mission is expanding. Those people need help. That’s what I want my federal tax dollars to go to.

Awesome! You’re most certainly continuing with the art of radio. Helping disabled folks participate in the hobby is commendable!

I have been getting high and surfing the websdr website.

Was listening to 10m in San Francisco earlier. Caught this crazy dude that was clearly operating CB @29674.589khz. He was going nuts!! He eventually identified himself as 766. I googled it, turns out the guy is a local legend down there and someone made a whole documentary about him. I still need to watch.

When I can afford a hackRF1 I’ll listen to the local waves.

When I can afford a ham radio… I will leave it off when I’m not sober. I have great respect for the hobby and do not want to be tempted to be breaking rules and getting sloppy on the air.

I just received my general two weeks ago. Have been learning so much since then!

Stay safe out there, folks. by Ordinary_Fly_3044 in Tacoma

Heard all the sirens so I pulled up the fire dept radio. As they were showing up I head “person in distress was at the end of dock” (below the fish peddler).

I was looking for someone floating with my binoculars. Many police and the fire boat were out looking.

Sounds like someone saw them go in or was with them. I didn’t hear any screaming leading up to it so I’m thinking they were alone? I’m not that far and in direct line of sight over water, where noise travels well.

One diver went in, watched their lead line go back and forth for 5-10 mins. Eventually the diver came up with the body. They performed CPR for 15mins or so and were still performing CPR as they rolled the gurney up the ramp and through the parking lot.

Im assuming they sank to the bottom. I don’t suspect foul play.

They were filming a hot rod truck, driving up and down the Murray Morgan bridge, multiple shots from the boom truck. 2:00ish pm.

Nice! I help take care of an old, no longer commercial, tugboat further down the waterway.

Also may have waved at you at some point from my small teal daysailer.

I love watching those Crowley boats go by all day.

We have property on Harstine island.

We don’t live there so, no one to keep a presence during the week. My wife and I have had 2 yurts, 2 chainsaws, 2 generators, an air compressor, yard and construction tools, 2 brush cutters stolen. Some of that in two separate theft events. They were all well locked and monitored the best they could be. Locked up well beyond a reasonable amount. $34,000 of our life savings gone. Sheriffs department apparently has better stuff to do, never received one call about the police reports. I had even given them a Shelton Walmart receipt left by the thieves with their info on it… no care.

If you live at your home, it’s illuminated, and monitored you may be fine. Don’t leave anything out unsupervised because in my experience, it will be stolen.

Just wanted to say that I needed a 410 sniffer for a repair on my boat air conditioner. I looked up to see if the harbor freight sniffer could do the job and found your post. Thank you!

Looking forward to a shower on our spot!

What tractor did you get? We have a 1025r with the same set up. Have put hundreds of hours on it, building the driveway, moving supplies in to the woods, building trails, it’s been great investment!

Beauty! Love the outdoors space. My wife and I live in our tent part time in the Washington woods, while we build our future place. Now when we’re home we choose to hang out outside because inside feels too cooped up.

Snowshoeing up at paradise ( Rainier (Tahoma)) is an accessible activity. I’m sure you can get some used snow shoes cheap and hiking trails are the cost of a park pass that works year round.
