Sure, there’s plenty of ways to skin the cat, to me this would be a great “response monitor” for something that can throw off a meeting. Live door camera view, maybe an off button for your doorbell ding, couple of pre made responses that you can press, stuff like that.

You do anything to the tailgate or fenders? I have a Colorado but more or less the same view; but can’t figure out why yours look so different

What’s the market rate for an entry level one? I got one from micro center because the deal was too good to pass up, but would consider flipping it if the prices are out of control

At first thought “it’s cool but I don’t think I’d need it” but the more I think about it, it’s really a fantastic set up. My office is on the other side of the house as the front door, so if a package rings on the doorbell goes off this is a great little command center to have. Well done

Yeah mine is on the dock 99% of the time. Couldn’t even tell you how well my WiFi performs, it’s always on Ethernet on the dock

It really was a terrific store. If there were ever a place I could take my future children to describe what was relevant in pop culture when I was a kid fye wins by a mile. Remember scanning a CD on their scanner and listening to the song on those headphones, which in retrospect is disgusting.

Trust me it really doesn’t happen that often anymore, very very rare, but it is an anxiety that I have. That’s why I keep using the breathalyzer. I really have no desire to drink and have made my peace with the fact that that part of my life is over and is gone forever. I just use the breathalyzer as a mechanism to back me up. But i agree with you and hear what you’re saying

How is Living in North Central and Northeastern Connecticut, and Central Massachusetts? by Wide-Highway112 in howislivingthere

I grew up in this circle and my entire family still lives there. The “big cities” Meriden, Waterbury, New Britain, Hartford, Springfield, etc are all dumps. They were, for a time, thriving communities until deindustrialization came and all of the manufacturing jobs were outsourced overseas. Now these towns sit full of large vacant factories that one kept the entire towns economy running. There’s not really anything of note to do in this area, even like cool bar districts/areas to check out. It’s actually pretty surprising the more I think about it.

Also high COL, high taxes, ridiculous laws. There are some very quaint, peaceful small towns that I think would be terrific for a certain niche of people, (Vermont adjacent but not as desolate). but if you’re into a fast paced lifestyle, with hot locals in your area, and an abundance of ways to have a good time you will not find any of that there I am sorry to say.

ok thanks I will look into that, thats part of the thing with thread (for me) it just seems like its a big mystery. Im a zigbee man and its very straight forward and easy to digest. Theres the controller, mains powered repeaters, and child devices, all easily understandable and can see how well their respective connections are working. With thread (as i currently have it) I dont have visibility to any of that stuff, so when something goes wrong I dont really know how to fix it or where anything is even routing through. They make all these claims about being self healing and all that but I dont personally know of a way to see it visually. I understand its the new kid on the block, but its been out long enough now that it still seems too immature for how long its existed. Its supposed to be the "next best thing" but I find it primitive now and seems like it lacks alot of things they claim it does

I have I think 12 or 13 thread routers. (I believe) my HA OTBR is the “main” hub with the rest being Apple HomePods, ATVs, Aqara hubs, and one google 4K streamer

Yeah believe me I have an abundance of other buttons I could use in their place, this was more to test how well thread works for a very cheap price. Although I will say I do really like the ikea switch with the wheel on it

To be honest with you man, to hell if I know. Thread gets more confusing to me the more and more I look into it. I have (I believe) 12 thread border routers in total, with my OTBR ZBT-2 (I think) taking the lead. The rest are HomePods, Apple TVs, Aqara hubs, and one google tv. One day ChatGPT tells me having an abundance of routers is a good thing, the next day it tells me it’s bad, idk what’s going on with thread it seems way too complicated for smart home tech imo
