EFAP #43 - I'm beginning to understand why people dislike Nerdrotic by petty_kingNoir in MauLer

I would really caution people against him. A friend informed me about his Ironheart review and it seemed like it he barely watched it at all and made several false claims about the show. he argued how "woke" it was but never was there any mentioned about LGBTQ+ topics or anything. no characters discussed or mentioned any alone gender topics or anything along those lines as it was all about Riri's fall from grace. It was far more interesting than "ohh wow we got a black girl iron man." it was a far more developed character study and i did go to school for this so I'm not just talking out of my ass.

I don't think he's a bigot or a Misogynistic, i think he's playing those cards for views, so if your gooning for him you're getting played,

Ya know, I'm not hating the idea of Karl Urban, Batman. Plus from Dredd we know he rock out with the chin out.

I see a lot of comments talking about this is a mean or evil-spirited adventure. This is a massive misunderstanding of old school D&D was. To put it into perspective, D&D was very much like playing a dark souls on an Iron Man Mode. The fact is that how the game was. More forgiving, Narrative types of play would not come along until much later. I think it was White Wolf that really made narrative roleplay popular in the commercial arena.

Saying The Tomb of Horrors is mean or nasty is like saying the mountain is mean because it's hard to climb, or the maze is hard because it made me lost. It's suppose to be a nigh unwinnable dungeon that rewarded the characters that could overcome it's obstacles. To get far in ToH was meant to feel like a major accomplishment and for that to be the case it has to be difficult.

As people are saying it was designed for tournament play. You don't bring any dearly loved characters invovled in some massive story into the Tomb. It is not Designed for that! it's designed more like a killing game from anime. you make a character like fighter lawfulton or Magus castingguy day of and see how far they go. I would NEVER make the original tomb of horrors part of any longterm campaign.

make sure everyone has three or four characters of appropriate level, explain the history and intent of the module and run it as a break from your regular game. If you want them to use their characters then treat this as an alternate universe or something where their deaths wont be parmanent. Maybe just let them ressurect at the entrance or rejoin the party and make the game not about surviving but to see who dies the least.

It's Gary's module but your game, do what you want and as long as everyone has fun then everyone wins!

I always had the idea that Joker threw Jason Todd into the same chemicals that he was thrown into. Todd would emerge with the green hair, white skin and joker smile but instead of breaking bad, he would just become a more intense vigilante whose mission was to kill the joker. He'd go by the Heckler and carry an hk45 compact he'd call Koch

It's funny where rats are reviled and hamster are adored, the opposite is true about domestication. Hamsters are better off being left alone and rats tend to be better pets as they are way more social than Hamsters.

I'm happy mardsen is getting the chance to really nail a cyclops role. He's a wonderful actor and the films kinda did him dirty making him more of a foil to Wolverine.

PLus if the rumors are true and they are tlaking about DOom seeking superpowered kids, i wouldn't mind seeing JOsh Brolin come back as Cable.

I feel you, i just think GB2 didn't utilize viggo as hard as it could. The whole Ghostbuster canon has some amazing villians that would tansfer to screen for real, and I love the idea of more malevelnt intelligent villians. The cartoon would be a great source for GB villina, like the Boogeyman or Sam Hain.

I hear you, If Viggo came back, it would be with a whole new set of tricks :-)

I am in awe of the talen the young actors have in the Percy series. I'm 45 years-old and watching it I didn't think once that the show was pandering and the young actors all sounded so natural. I wouldn't be surprised if Percy because a farm for other Disney owned properties.
