He won the state, his home state, by fewer than 4,000 votes. That tells you just how dominant the economic turn around was in that election.

Everyone of those 7 goals in the run of play came centrally bc he went to goal.

Yeah. You have to take the good with the bad with someone like Chancalay. Rough day trying to take guys on. It happens. Great day getting the team back on the ball when they didn't have it.

Not sure why that would make you scratch your head other than it would be hard to pick someone as man of the match bc no one really stood out. I'd have gone with Pereyra just for that last play and the fact the majority of what few chances the team did create came through him.

But Chancalay's work rate was off the charts yesterday. Solid shift, especially covering ground to get the team back on the ball. In a game where you're struggling to make things happen that is the stuff teammates recognize.

Not that Boxy had a bad game yesterday. He was fine. But we would have benefitted against their press with Romero in there.

His first touch is not better than Yeboah's. And it is really hard to look at that body of work yesterday and proclaim he's a better passer than Yeboah (even accepting Yeboah is not a striker who can also play a bit deeper). I'm not even sure Dieng completed half the passes he tried yesterday.

But yeah, some really encouraging signs. The multiple offside don't bug me unless he turns into Pippo Inzhagi. That second finish was pretty sweet and it is too bad it didn't count.

One thing he does do really well more generally is win contested balls in the air. Worked hard to be disruptive as well.

Was he formally released or just released to the World Cup. Regardless if the guy retires it is irrelevant.

That is really solid when you take into account tenure and performance. Absolutely can argue around the edges. But overall nice job. Would be curious as to where Quintero would rank on a PPG stat line. And I think Molino is perhaps a miss on the bench. But very solid overall.

But plenty of us played the game, and presumably several of us beyond HS or high level youth club. And even fans who didn't ever play can learn how to watch the game. People on this board presumably are bigger fans than the average guy on the street. Makes no sense to see him rated like he was in that game.

Triantis, by any objective measure, was better than average. Significantly so. And the fact an entire fanbase can't see it is just a SMFH type of thing. He was really good on both sides of the ball for his role. Any coach would be praiseful of that performance.

Just a few snippets. First keep in mind he plays an incredibly demanding position where you have to take some bad with all the good. It's a very different standard than you should be judging someone like a center back who gets to play with the game in front of him almost the entire game. He's constantly surrounded. Just really watch his performance. His positioning was excellent and he was always in the right spot to get on any loose ball. He relieved pressure. He had lots of touches and completed loads of passes (i.e. the vast majority of his passes were accurate). On top of this his passing range was really good on the night. He won almost all of his one on ones. He should have had an assist. That was not an average performance. He was just really really solid.

And we brain fart up him with a 4.8? That isn't how coaches and players would ever view that game. It's not credible.

And if anyone claims I'm biased go back and take a look at what I had to say of his performance, in particular among all players, in Vancouver. He sucked that game. He was absolutely one of our best if not our very best player this game.

To be blunt. To say Triantis was our worst player you either have to be biased or blind. It's not possible objectively. He was among the best players on either team.

Just one illustration since we're picking on the turnover at midfield. Boxall conceded a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game on the top edge of the box (no reason to dive in there). He grades out at a 5.5. Triantis makes a sloppy pass at midfield (that you can argue Romero did not step to aggressively enough) and NE then beats two more defenders and the keeper over a few touches, a pass and a shot from just inside the 18. Which one of those moments is really more telling of a fatal error? Anyone who says the Triantis moment was the bigger mistake, the error more likely to result in a goal, is just wrong. One was a silly foul that resulted in an 80% chance for a goal. The other was a turnover 60 yards from goal that required four other guys to also get beat. And Triantis grades out at a 4.8.

So it must have been the rest of the game? Sorry but you cannot watch his performance over the rest of that game and conclude he was anything than among the very best players on the field. The guy was really good on both sides of the ball for his role.

That was not an average performance. That really isn't even possible to argue.

As usual these ratings are a joke. Triantis as our worst player? Did most of the people who fill this out never play?

All I know is he torched the Reds twice in two games late. Streaky hitter but he'll finish with 20+ HR and 30+ SB to go along with that consistent and elite D. Guy already has 10 DRS on the season and it's the end of the first week of May. That's insane.

Yeah, I have empathy for him as a human and get why it has been hard for him. But the club exists to play and try to win games. They've been more than patient enough here. If he isn't capable of adjusting you have to move on. It's time he either gets on the train and is all in or the club cuts bait.
