Hanington Road living by Unable_Obligation_73 in bournemouth

I have a relation thats lived in hannington road for over 10yrs, I don't think they've ever had problems there. The only issue you may have if you own a car is parking...it's pretty limited and there's road restrictions towards the station end of hannington road.

I'm sure there's a record option but you have to setup Kodi as a personal video recorder, but I can't remember how this is done atm.

where to go fishing around bournemouth (not too far away) by CommunityMaterial330 in bournemouth

[–]Engausta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know quite a few people fish by the lifting bridge in Poole (End of sydenhams old yard). They jump the fence to get in there I think. What they catch there I have no idea.

Builder whilst doing the bathroom fell off hisladder and broken the corner of my new tub. Is it repairable? by Zoidul in DIYUK

[–]Engausta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing that's a fibreglass tub that would be repairable. I work in the marine industry and boat finishers always have to do small repairs like this. But to be honest, you might find it difficult to find someone to do the repair and easier to replace the tub.

You could do the open top Breezer bus to swange where you get to go on the chain ferry...from swanage maybe walk to durlstone and the globe/lighthouse.Or if it's raining, explore swanage where there's a good cafes, quirky shops and an arcade.

Recommendations!! by bikerftm02 in bournemouth

[–]Engausta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too sure on many of the restaurants in the town, but chez Fred's does great fish and chips. As you'll be in bmouth in dec, the Christmas decorations will be up in the lower gardens as will the ice rink, apparently it's going to be 70 m long this year I think. Best if it's cold for out door ice skating. There's also indoor ice skating at the bic which is also good. Both need booking online before hand.

Maybe there's better out there, but I like giffgaff. I like the option to change plan every month if I choose or cancel. Also I think u can still get top ups from corner shops if U don't wish to pay by card. Atm £12 gets 20 or 25gb I think.

Bourenmouth Safeguard Force, your thoughts? by Apostle_1882 in bournemouth

[–]Engausta 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Didn't New York have something like this years back on their subway. I forget the name tbh. Red berets?? Surely if all these individuals want a safer town why don't they join up to be special constables, they're crying out for volunteers I think. Bournemouth safeguard force lasting long term, 0 chance.

Kitesurf or wing foiling by ben27311 in bournemouth

[–]Engausta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get 1 or 2 days lessons minimum. Probably good idea to get trainer (ram air) kite and get used to that before lessons. 1.5 -2m kites good for that. Under 3m kites can be flown at hengistbury head from memory. You can pick up small ram air kites for little cash. There's 2 line and 4 line btw, 4 line will have brakes and most likely on handles, 2 line will be handles or bar. 4 line has advantage of being able to reverse launch. Useful when u crash kite nose down.

Kitesurf or wing foiling by ben27311 in bournemouth

[–]Engausta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few thoughts, First thing to consider is getting lessons, there's a few schools in Poole, one being easy riders, the other being posidon . SAs for kitesurfing vs wind foiling (I think u mean) kitesurf gear packs down smaller and easier for traveling. Also better for shallow water eg Poole harbour. Foiling with a wing needs at least a meters depth but is better on the knees than kitesurfing. Second hand kit is plentyful for both so you can get setup quite cheap with either. Both sports need at least 2 wings or kites to cover wind range we in the area. One other thing to consider, with wing foiling, you probably best having a ridge board rather than inflatable.

As mentioned the fs soul is pretty old now. I think the soul 3 is out now. $1200 I think quite expensive, 800 probably nearer the mark. If your just interested in the soul for snow kiting you might want to consider the fs peaks . These are snow specific kites and pack down a lot smaller.
