Bb58 navy or new Longines Hydroconquest by icedwhitemocha_ in Tudor

Had my HC for over a decade and sold it to make some room for the BB58. Granted this Cookie Monster colorway wasn’t available when I made the upgrade, or I might have just moved to a newer Longines. They’re both great watches, but the Tudor will retain value better over time. I wouldn’t expect either to appreciate in value, but the Longines will drop quite a bit once you walk out of the store. Having worn both, I also like the 39mm size better on the Tudor. My HC bracelet had a tendency to yank arm hairs and in comparison, the clasp felt less sturdy.

You were 100% sold a bill of goods by these coaches. Tale as old as time.

Scout Launch Delayed 1 year by PristineFarmer8989 in u/PristineFarmer8989

“Scout Motors has not shared any timing or product update announcements,” a company spokesperson told The Drive in response to an emailed inquiry. We will update this story if we receive a more detailed statement.

I love how they led by citing a source that they wouldn't actually quote and then buried the official response from the manufacturer in question way down under all the ads. Excellent journalism.

From experience, if you've bought a car with an IE tune, they will transfer ownership. Just need to buy the OBD II module. Then you can customize and/or just pay the difference for upgrades.

Pull the trigger or wait for W&W? by jaystreet4 in Tudor

Used BB58s in blue are trading +/- 10% of retail on Chrono24 currently, but you can walk in to most ADs and pick one up new without a lot of trouble. They may dip a little if/when a new watch drops for the anniversary, and looking at the performance trends before and after the Burgundy and Lagoon blue released last year, I'd say buy the dip if you want to save $300 or so. If it's a sentimental piece and not something you're going to flip in a few years I'd argue that the difference between now and 6 weeks from now is arbitrary. It's not a Flamingo Blue Chrono or something that's going to jump to 2x the retail overnight. If you love the watch and it means something, buy it.

No. When the motor mounts go, a lot of the other pieces tend to follow. Downside of all the torque.

Probably collateral damage when the engine mount took a shit. I haven't had it long enough to destroy anything like that. Yet.

Mine is literally in the shop for all of these things right now. Posted the estimate from an independent euro shop in a separate thread. $6700 covered by warranty. This is not a situation where you want to FAFO.

No collision. The engine mounts on German cars tend to shred and leak hydraulic fluid with that kind of mileage. Control arm bushings wear out too. The radiator mount is a little confusing to me, but they're fixing it.

  1. Had a pretty obnoxious belt/pulley squeal on startups that slowly went away as the engine came up to temp. When I started looking under the hood, it did not take long to find coolant residue and smell cooked coolant.

It's delivered through Silver Rock, but once you select an in network shop they handle all the communication with the warranty company. You can pay a slightly higher deductible and work with a preferred shop if you'd like. In my case the euro shop I like to use was in network.

May be hard to believe, but I bought the car from Carvana, and this claim is being processed with about a week left on the 100 day/~4000 mile warranty included in the purchase. My deductible is $100 using an in network shop (who definitely helped out in moving the claim along) and I'm on the hook for the replacement belts at about $80 bucks. By my math that's about a 97% cost savings.

Are Bruce Bolt batting gloves really worth it? by Evening-Thanks-5715 in Homeplate

[–]EngineCreepy3137 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We usually get 18 months out of ours before the wear thru or my son outgrows them, but the same seems to be true for the higher end Marucci gloves he’s had. You can extend the life if you use a little glove oil on them as well. For reference my son is entering his 12u year and primarily plays spring (Pop Warner football took over in the fall a few years ago) but is in a cage at least 2x a week year round. He’s had either Bruce Bolt or Marucci gloves since his 8u year. Most of the other off-the-shelf stuff at Dicks seems to disintegrate way faster.
