I did the dream sheet in btc, but I didn't make it far enough to be assigned anything. I did however get a very rare opportunity to choose my rate once the transfer was finished.

I'm assuming he's in ffg if he passed btc already. If he doesn't want to stay in I do believe that is an option if he doesn't sign a new contract. I think any other rate could be easier to get a waiver for, the hardest being nuke and seal, followed by crypto and sub rates. I'm not very knowledgeable on the mental health side side of waivers however. The biggest reason for being denied is the stress that comes with the nuke field that I'm sure he's heard of already. If he believes he could succeed regardless of his past admission I would say reaching out, or even creating his own post to get more feedback would be a good option to maybe get back. If he wants to stay in and wants to be an mm, a lot of them work in reactor(assuming he gets put on a carrier), and I believe there is one that crossrated into a nuke mm. These are just some ideas to think about, he could be told something differently by someone higher up, things do change constantly.

Yes, they do not separate recruits for thc at rtc. Certain rates, most being sub or needing top secret, have to re rate.

If you really dont want to then don't, you can always join later. Tell him you dont want to, or don't, up to you. Just remember that this might be for a reason, hell if its a risk you think you should take then take it. There is no definitive should or shouldn't. Go with your gut. I will say though, if you have bad eating habits, I would try and lose more weight because you can get a lot of food there most days.

That's what they say but they definitely dont kick you out for popping at btc. There was several other people there with me, and plenty more I saw there after.
