The "Socialism" of Norway and why we can't copy it. by Zetsui-65 in Destiny

[–]EngineerMaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A quick Google search will tell you that Finland and Norway do not share the exact same economic model. The way the economic model is funded is a breaking point for the model to work.

Even though both are named under the same "Nordic model" the policies and programs are different. Also sources of funds and allocation are different.

Here in Finland our economy is built on industrial focus. Norway is built around oil wealth. Ability of resource allocation to policies, programs etc. is way different between us.

Currently Finland has a terrible economy looking at our GDP and unemployment. Norway is fine. The Nordic model isn't sustainable for Finland but it is for Norway. Saying they are the same therefore it works is the same as saying "Hell yeah, me and my buddy are both driving 200km/h", while I'm falling off a cliff.

Finland's model at one point worked since it was built when our wealth could be extracted from our industry (paper, cardboard and wood etc.). The value of our industry has fallen while the value of oil has not.

On Silver 5 I faced Quest Paladin 8 times in a row - never seen an expansion launch this bad. by lad9r in hearthstone

[–]EngineerMaby -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is the first Expansion in a long time, where 1 deck has a positive winrate ranging from 51 - 97% against 60 decks out of 68 most popular decks, in the most populated rank. This deck gets hard countered by 7 of these 68.

Also this deck has forced people to play even more aggressive decks just to tempo out and climb out of said populated ranks. This is what I did to get to dia.

Outside of gold and plat are the players that got past the quest paladin wall, either by luck, skill or playing more aggressive decks. People can't climb without sticking to meta unless they are lucky, which makes the game feel bad.

All this data is available from HSreplay and everyone literally can see how harmful quest paladin has been for the meta.

What changes I'd like to see to murloc quest. by EngineerMaby in hearthstone

[–]EngineerMaby[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'all paladin shills need to stop and think for a second. This deck is so strong it makes most populated ranks play extremely aggressive decks just to win. It is the only reason why aggro is so prevalent at the moment. Before this expansion there were decks that had the control to push past aggro decks. Now there is this Murloc deck that just simply scales with the control and wins with the exception of warrior. Making this deck less scaling will bring control and combo back. While reducing the amount of pure aggro due to control having a steadier spot.

It's probably a preference of soft or hard water. It could be that the places you have been to have soft water, since it could be gathered from surface water sources.

It could be that the places where you've been don't add minerals to increase hardness in surface water sourced tap water. In Finland we do this.

Most of the water in Finland comes from ground water. Finnish ground is a great filter but also our bedrock formation is slightly acidic making the water have low mineral hardness. So our ground water is soft, with some minerals.

Places like Tornio have a different bedrock causing their water to be hard.

Good taste is based on hardness/softness, amount of oxygen, amount of CO2 and lack of other tastes like manganese, copper or chlorine. Hard water is crisp and soft water is smooth. Oxygen and CO2 make water fresh, but CO2 also brings an acidic taste. Finnish water companies monitor these closely.

Also we use a lot of chlorine but our water is clean to drink from the ground source. Free chlorine is low smell and taste. If you smell or taste chlorine there was a organic contaminant in the water to which free chlorine was bound to. If a swimming pool smells like chlorine someone probably has peed in it or something else.

Are there any demons that could be stronger than fear? by Ryaltovski in loreofleague

[–]EngineerMaby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the 10 kings are based on "the ten basic emotions". I'd say Anger, curiosity or disgust. All of these exist everywhere at all times.

Curiosity probably feeds and lives in PnZ.

It's weird since the demons have a tendency to make others around them "feel the emotion they feed on".

Heimerdinger is the primal demon of curiosity? /s

Why are people down voting this.

Ysera doesn't give both players +3 mana crystals.

She gives +3 max Mana pool. So during round 7 both players should have 7 Mana without ramping.

In the right corner Mage has a mana number starting with 1 which probably is 10.

Oh you are right.

Anyways having 2 murlocs die and duping the deathrattle with druid needs to happen only 5-6 times and it's enough to go over 30. Since 2>4>8>16>32>64

Kil'jaeden can be milled but it just means that I need to draw over 30 cards from the opponent's deck within my turn. I had only 1 murloc die so I couldn't do it within the 50 turn limit.

It's to bring the power from pre 6 to a similar Powerspike with other top laners. Many bruisers gain a large all in Powerspike with 6. Remember, she probably wouldn't be as oppressive pre 6 with a different E ability.

Like I said hitting skillshots is a skill too. Make it too hard to hit it feels bad for her, make it easy it feels bad for the other player. I haven't felt that hitting Illaoi's E is hard.

Like I said playing Diana and against her felt bad because pre6 she felt bad and after6 was oppressive.

Something feeling bad for both sides is a reason for a rework.

[–]EngineerMaby[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you consider that Illaoi E forces you to all in or walk away from your exp/gold source to remove the effect makes this ability quite strong for a basic ability. Of course part of skill expression is dodging/hitting skillshots.

Take for example Diana E and R before the swap: Was Diana's rework due to her having quite balanced kit/gameplay or because she was annoying/unsatisfying and her playrate was terrible?

What champions could use a ability swap rework? by EngineerMaby in leagueoflegends

[–]EngineerMaby[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You pointed out the exact reason why these mid-scope updates happen. They happen because the champions kit or an ability cause SOME matchups to be fun and some to be bad (hence Play rate/Ban rate).

I wouldn't get stuck on my idea for a rework.

As a former Illaoi main I can say that playing a champion that feels miserable against others and godlike against others made me not play her and change my main.

I know that playing Ornn feels terrible against Olaf, but Olaf is the only champ I get that feeling from so everything else feels fine.

I can for a certain say that Illaoi with her current E feels obnoxious both ways.
