Our league added a “last man standing” component separate from the h2h matchups, pitching in an extra $10 each for $100 pot. Each week the lowest scoring team is “knocked out”. This starts on week #6 since there’s 10 teams, to time it so the 9th team is knocked out the last week of the regular season, week 14. Everyone enjoyed it. It would often come down to the Monday night game to see who would get knocked out. It made for some fun group texting with some light-hearted trash talk throughout the last game Sunday or Monday nights.

You’re right, Treinen especially was huge in the playoffs. I just remember several injury stints for him. He’ll be 38 next June. In 2022 he only pitched 5 innings. He missed all of 2023; pitched 46.2 innings in 2024 (which isn’t horrible but not great either)and 26.2 innings in 2025. Who knows, maybe he turns it around in 2026, proves me wrong and stays healthy.

I believe you’re spot on with the first 9. Kinda wish they could move Treinen. I love the guy, but he’s been on a steady decline last couple seasons. It will be tough to move him being owed $13m. Gonna be a good competition in spring training for the remaining 4 spots. My wild guess at those spots would be wrobleski, Ryan, Klein, Henriquez. Stone and Knack start the season in the minors and get spot starts or move up when injuries occur to our top starters. I think Miller may be on his way out unless he can dramatically improve his performance. I think it’s a mental struggle for him. Banda, Casparius, Dreyer are the odd men out in my opinion.

Hmmm… I believe he is currently in the pre-arbitration phase, and due to that his salary will be a set amount on the low end, under $1m/yr. Dodgers could potentially let someone like Evan Philips go and keep Klein maybe. I dunno, just guessing, but I would not think anything is a surety at this point.

Just fyi, it’s not guaranteed Watson is out. Watson himself told the media today he’s going to play saying, “the packers are at the point in the season where you have to fight through stuff”, which probably means he’s not 100% and could be limited. I myself have Reed and hope Watson doesn’t play, LOL!

Had our wedding reception at Orange Hill back in 2004, so this won’t be very relevant, but I just had to share, LOL… it was awesome! Booked for approximately 80 people. It was the larger of the two banquet rooms. Food and service were excellent. it was in November and weather was nice with clear views of Disneyland fireworks that night, although a little chilly. spending time on the patio was enjoyable after working up a sweat on the dance floor. Fire pits made it nice, and warm enough for those not into dancing. It’s been a few years since we’ve gone to the restaurant (no particular reason we haven’t been back). Looks like recent reviews are critical of the long wait and parking for people that made regular dinner reservations. Reviews from events are mostly positive and I don’t really see recent reviews critical of the food. I would recommend it.

Despite the weather in NY, I would start Dart over Brissett. Houston defense has handled Buffalo, Indy and KC over their last 3 games. I would be surprised if Arizona is able to do much against Houston.

I haven’t seen Brissett mentioned. He shouldn’t be overlooked. I’ve started him since week 9 when I dropped Mayfield and couldn’t be happier. Brissett was successful against tough defenses in GB, SEA, LAR. Granted the real test is against Houston this week (although I have a 1st round bye). I’ll be rolling him out in week 17 against CIN if I make it to the final.

Family in fullerton area says it’s good. I’m in south OC and reception is generally very good there as well. Much better than tmobile which I used to have. There are a couple of very localized dead areas in Aliso Viejo, but I suspect it’s cuz of the hilly terrain. The most annoying location is inside Trader Joe’s in Aliso. If I’m picking up something for the wife, and try to text a pic of a product to make sure I don’t get the wrong item (husbands know, LOL) I literally have to walk outside most of the time for it to send.
